About demo for PC version, all info about when it will get released you can get from Mass Effect twitter page. Many times over they've stated that it will be released via Origin around 12pm PST/ 8pm GMT today.
According to Chris Priestley it will be 10 PM PST (why not write it as 22:00 for those of us who use 24 hours system? It's not that hard).LilyasAvalon wrote...
Only 2 hours left of the 14th in Western Australia.
Shame on me, I've forgotten you have several time zones. Sorry.
Well, anyway, there is around 4-5 hours for all of us. IF they release it in time AND their servers will be able to hold the line, so to speak. Or again Origin will inform us about "out of digital copies"?
What I really don't get - why not put that info on official site? Not all of us use twitter (I don't) or facebook (neither), and some don't speak English so plowing through all those threads here at BSN could be challenging. TBH, I don't see much "customer support" here.
Yes, I'm ranting again. But it's not about nerfing guns or whatever - just what, 7 symbols on official page?
Well, I live in Central Europe, so PST doesn't mean that much to me. GMT does, 'cause I add +1 to it. So, sorry about that.
I agree, not all of us have facebook and/or twitter, but you can easily see tweets without having an account. So I don't see that as an issue. But you are right, not all of us have magnificent English vocabulary and spare time to look through all the websites for some even remotely accurate info.
One more thing, this Origin thing is idiotic. I had to make an account just so I can download demo. <_< I don't see me using it again in the future.

If you, have an EA account and I assume you have one becouse you registered ME2 here than you don't need to create a seperate Origin account you can log in with the EA one.

Unless I'm mistaken, Origin and BSN accounts are murged so there is no real need to create a new account just for Origin, you could have used the same account.
On another note I don't really get why people are flamming out about getting the demo at a later date/time, ofcourse if they release it for PST depending on your region you'll get it later or the next day.
From my exp. only digital copy games get onlocked at local time.
Whats the latest verdict ? is it 12:00 or 22:00 PST for PC demo ??

PC users can expect demo access today, 12PM PST/8PM GMT approximately which means 20:00GMT which means I will get it 21:00 Local time

I might just need more gameplay to get the feel of it since the demo is very very short if you don't have Battlefeild 3.

I created Origin account several days ago, and today a Bioware Social Network one. I used a seperate e-mail for Origin, personal reasons.

well I'm on GMT +2 so it'll be 22:00pm when I'll start the download, I figure the download speed will depend more on Origin servers and not on your connection speed, I can tug around 1.8Mb/s but never went above 1.1 on downloads from Origin

We can all get it normally if we just wait. Your point is, when a PC user finally gets a demo, he/she uploads it as torrent, which is completely futile, at least for me. By that time, all of us have already downloaded it via almighty Origin.

Password reminder that asks you to answer your secret question. If I don't remember password, how am I suppose to remember an answer to the secret question? Always buggled me.
And what happens if you have to reinstall Outlook, and have to retype all the email passwords again?

Agree. But occasiaonaly I have to communicate with people all over the world, so I have to remember all those timezones. Not that it helps, however, especially when that stupid daylight saving happens.

I don't have a habit to visit sites I don't have habit or use to visit. That's twitter, facebook or whatever "social network" it is, excluding this one. And sole reason why I'm still here - they still don't gave me asnwer on my goddamn question about region locks! So, I guess, I'll have to wait till release, check for myself and then begone for another year or so.

Yup, that's the issue. Give simple short and correct info on proper page on so-called "official" site. That will solve problems. Not all of them, but some of them.
But no, there is marketing - sending spam about "gather your team in twitter commander Shepard" is easier. Pfeh. Don't follow Smith&Wesson.

Since I already have it, I see no reason to object using it. But for me it's completely "redundant" - Steam is better. Period.
And no need to tell me about competition and comparing whose dick is longer. I'm tired from a lot of proprietary formats everywhere. Sometimes I really miss unification and standard template constructions.

I hate origin becouse when I start NFS I have to wait at least 2min. until the origin window pops up and asking me do you wish to login. Hell no, I don't want to log in, for me NFS is a single player game and always will be, if I want MP than I launch COD:MW3

On the Origin subject, I found long time ago on one of the websites the following:
''Probably the simplest and most logical reason for Origin not to exist
is the sheer fact that gamers don’t exactly want another service to
fiddle with in order to play their games. Part of the reason Steam is so
incredibly popular is that it has become the equivalent of a “games
folder” for many people. When they want to play a game, they boot Steam
and choose one from their library. They can even activate products on
Steam with CD keys a lot of the time. Asking these people to set up an entirely new client, untested by
time, is asking for a leap of faith that not many are going to be
willing to make. As the adage goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.''
aaaanddd...
''Not to state the obvious or anything, but Electronic Arts is a single
publisher. Sure, their reach extends across various genres and markets,
but they are still only able to push their own games. Valve, on the
other hand, has had no issue with selling the games of other developers,
publishers, and indie studios; anyone and everyone is represented on
the platform from the big to the small to the practically nonexistent. This brings a selection bar none to Steam and there’s no way that
Electronic Arts can compete in the sheer amount of stuff offered. Even
if they attempted to court some of Steam’s clients, it would almost
certainly require said clients to jump ship from Steam –which is
genuinely regarded as a bad idea.''
I completely agree with the fact that if you don't have an account on a specific social network, you lack habit and need to visit it. But still, if several people stated that there is new information coming out on Twitter every minute, why is it so hard to pay a visit? There is even a link to it on Mass Effect website.
