They said information on the demo would come sooner than expected. Info can about a day or two after that tweet, which was sooner than expected.
Besides, its only a demo. So what if they got the release date wrong months and months ago?
The problem is stirring fans' expectations by announcing things and then backpedal and disappoint them over and over and over again. It wasn't intentional, sure; that doesn't change anything about the fact it was unprofessional. You may not care - fine. But there are people who do care and who don't like to be toyed with like that. It doesn't justify insulting the BioWare staff, though, that's true - I'm certain they're doing their best. But I can also see where AlphaJarmel is coming from.
Besides, I think you continue missing his point: It is not about the demo itself - it is about the screwed info policy and communication around it. They announced things, didn't stick to that, weren't even heard from for quite a while, kept announcing, dropped the ball yet again and now were basically forced to give us the actual date because of the leak. Like I said: It's not about the demo. It never really was.
To be frank, I couldn't care less anymore when the demo comes out since the actual game is released in about one and a half months, anyway and I've got lots of ways to kill time until then.

But hey! At least I have the efforts of BioWare/EA's marketing team keeping me entertained until it arrives. Always capable of delivering a decent screw-up.

I joined these forums because hearing Casey Hudson talk about how they listen and respond to their community really made me think there was something here. But what I've found is a company that doesn't communicate and a "fan" base that makes it easy to understand why. If I was a Bioware dev, I'd be reluctant to jump in to this snake's nest and talk to you guys, too. That doesn't apply to everyone, of course, but there are more than enough bad apples here to spoil the bunch.

I think that the argument of "Bioware should communicate better with fans" has merit. But you guys do yourselves no favors by saying, "Bioware intentionally mislead us, they are evil!" Instead, just calmly make your point that they should have communicated these things better with their fan base.

I've never been particularly active in here, but I have followed a lot of posts in the past. I think the atmosphere is by and large BioWare's own fault. Miscommunication, fueling false expectations, and so on. It's their forum, and the state of it is their responsibility.
Most of us love BioWare, and we all know what happens to people in love: Madness ensues

It's pathetic that they are releaseing the Demo 2-3 weeks before the game is released. We was told it was going to be released in January and now that it's here, we have to wait another month, for the Demo.
Bioware are really begin to ****** me off.
If you're going to say something, hold to your word. ¬¬
Valentines day is the release date as well. Some of us have lifes you know.
Are you five years old?

I don't think so. If it's anything like the leaked beta it will fade to black and go the the Kodiak shuttle before landing on Sur'Kesh.darkness reborn wrote...

But it doesn't change the fact that its free and is more susbstantial than most games.
Also, the original release date was from before the leak of the beta version of the demo and the script within. Of course it would be delayed after that. Its not as though the game has been delayed. You haven't lost out on any time or money. You're still getting a demo before the game releases. Thats like 3 weeks worth of ME3's MP before the game is even out, which is pretty nifty. So why you stooped to insulting Bioware over this is beyond me.
Explain.

No, you can only use the Kinect sensor for the voice-powered features. The headset will not work.

So Bioware lets you play a sizeable portion of the game for free, and you're complaining that this free sample isn't coming when you want it?KadianK wrote...

Wow.
And you could, you know, start playing it after Valentines day. Its not a one day thing.
I'm complaining because of their terrible ability to keep fans updated. Then misinforming us of what is going on.
The fact they included the opening scene for the game is a bummer.
The fact that it's on Valentines day sucks, due to the fact, I've been waiting for this since the announcement. The fact that this gcame should have been out last year in freaking September.
The point is, their really annoying because of all the "MISINFORMATION".

Will there be ingame bonuses for ME3 by playing the Beta? Just out of curiosity.
For Kingdoms of Amalur, yes. But if you mean for ME3, then no. Or more specifically, there hasn't been an announcement of any ingame bonuses.

Now that they know there were story files hidden away, they're probably going to want to look through it to ensure there isn't anything else hidden in there they don't want being spoiled. This takes time, hence a minor delay.
