Good evening,   I have just purchased NWN 2 and am in the process of installing it (for the second time actually, as the first time it gave the same error below and would not run).  

When installing, at the end of install I get the following message:

"String error DX_INSTALL was not found in string table", along with a  "ERROR_DX_INSTALL"  message.

It then goes to the patching / updating process,  and has the following errors...

Locate patch file nwn2_pc_english_from100788_to105912.zip

Can not find patch file: nwn2_pc_english_from100788_to105912.zip

Connecting...vnfiles.ign.com

It appears to do fine after that, however, when I go to run the game after its all updated, it just gives me the NWN logo symbol in a white box, and never gets to the game opening. 


I build homes, not computers, so my Technical savvy is limited.    Any help would be appreciated.

It might help to know more about what computer you have, what OS you are using, and what version of NWN2 you are trying to install. I'm guessing since it is attempting to patch that you are installing from DVD's.
