Does anyone out there have the feeling that the VS will be the most coveted L.I. based upon their absense and lack of romance finality in ME2? 

For example Ashley might be my 4th choice of an L.I. in ME2 behind Liara, Tali, and Miranda... but I find myself wanting to pursue Ashley (or Kaidan) for my first ME3 playthough.  Am I alone here???

Maybe, but they don't know what they're missing. And maybe they'll change their minds when ME3 is out.

And not to forget, new people coming in to the series will maybe have a different view on her. And people who started with ME2 probably didn't care who the VS is b/c of his/her small screen time so I hardly think they share the same opinion who romanced her in ME1 and felt "cheated".

I just think the suspense for the VS will be greater due to the lack of climax (no pun intended) in ME2.  All the other ones are pretty much over and seem to just be resolutions instead of continuations.

Suspense for VS can't be too high since we've got Jack and Miranda already. But I kept a save file just for Ashley and Kaidan so hopefully they play out well.

My VS romance is heading towards a final breakup. I am curious how that'll go, but most coveted LI? No. My main maleShep will look out for Miranda all the time and my main femShep (single in ME1 and ME2) will check the new option out.

Dicitionary.com 3rd definition.  A paradox is any person, thing or situation exhibiting an apparently contradictory nature.

VS is my 4th L.I. choice overall in terms of likability,  but most likely my 1st playthrough for ME3.  That contradicts the fact I like the 3 other LI's more than the VS.

Which is a paradox.

Those aren't contradictory. How much you like a given love interest may impact your choice of first playthrough, but it's clearly not intrinsically a make-or-break for everybody ever.

For things to be contradictory means that the existence of one must preclude the other and make it impossible.

One more paradox for you: my nb.1 LI is Kaidan, but first imported Shepard will be the one who romanced majority of female LI. Just because I can severely screw up first playthrough via "Oops incorrect translation".

Kinda thought so in the first moments.

Then again: a "canon!playthrough" includes mistakes. You're not playing it by the book (aka walkthrough) - and therefore don't know how different decisions play out. I'll go for ONE perfect playthrough one day, maybe with or without VS.

So my "canon!playthrough" might end not perfectly - or the path to the ending is not perfect. "Screw ups included" so to speak.

I don't care much for either VS. I cheated on both of them in my ME2 playthroughs and don't think I'll be making a save file to experience either romance in ME3.

Something has been puzzling me for a while now. If you talk to Miranda just before the romance confession, and you chose the renegade dialog options, at the end you kiss her. I wonder how that will affect you if you have a romantic relationship from the previous Mass Effect game?

Of course the VS will get "special attention" its a dramatic character arc over all three games

Yeah I have a feeling I'm not going to play my favorite Shepards first until I figure out all the choices and consequences. I'd hate to try for a happily ever after ending (if it's even possible) only to have my LI die because of a stupid mistake. Most likely I'm going to play through ME3 first with my renegade shep that doesn't have a LI.

No, but if the game turns out better than i fear i may one day import a romanced Ash. Otherwise it'll just be a single Miranda run for me.
