You mean that same femShep trailer they've been promising us since the "July '11 femShep Vote"?

Yeahhhh....most people have given up on that.

We want our trailer because it was promised to us. They made a big deal about making femshep. They went to the trouble of picking out her hairstyle and then the color. If anything Jenifer Hale deserves some attention for the last 2 games she has worked so hard on and she is an amazing VA. It's about time she should get credit as the voice and the face of femshep. Until just recently nobody really even knew who femshep VA was or even cared. Some women still don't even know their is a femshep. If anything it might pull more females toward the game. Also there is nothing like a hot, badass woman that can kick your ass. So why not? It's time to recognize that women also like video games. Some of us Women like to play shooters and war games. So why do we want it? Because we were promised it.

Well said. :)  And seconded! Especially the part about Jennifer Hale deserving a little promotion because she is a grade A badass!

Why ty:lol::wizard: Yea Jennifer Hale deserves a little promotion.

I'm not a gamer because I feel that most of the videogames are designed for the male audience (I'm a woman).
ME is different : the fact that the femshep is such a feminist charismatic character is really unique, and very appealling for the female audience, I think.
Bioware should advertize much more on the femshep. I'm sure plenty of women would love that game, but if they don't know that femshep even exists it will never happen.

A gamer is not a distinct group - anyone and everyone who plays video games is a gamer.

While this is strictly true, it is the case that there is a 'gaming subculture' (what people might refer to as 'hardcore gamers') which is predominantly male and male-oriented (both in terms of marketing and in the types of products which are released). This subculture tends to be the most visible and tends to be what people are referring to when they mention 'gamers' as a group-identifier.

75% of my ME2 and 90% of my ME1 playthroughs are female Shepard and I particularly don't care.

Cool for YOU. But others do care, as seen by many posts in this thread.

Yes, but if the trailer is the same "quality" of the cover presenting our beloved femShep...

...I really wish they don't release it!

It's also an issue of Bioware acknowledging the EXISTENCE of femshep in any significant way at all.  She's on one side of a tin for the collector's edition of ME3.  That's it.  If you weren't around for the brouhaha with the voting before, one could easily be forgiven for still not knowing that you CAN play as a female in this series.  And I didn't know it was even an option until after ME2 was out, since I didn't really follow it...(I got into the series a bit late)

It's a damn shame, not the least of which because Jennifer Hale is a wonderful actress (who far far FAR outpaces Mark Meer, to say the very least), and the ability to have a woman who dresses sensibly, is respectable for her position, and has a lot of personality is far rarer than it should be.    What was the point of the voting and all the discussion from before if HALF A TIN is the only acknowledgement she gets?

I'm a gamer despite this. I've gamed my whole life and fought to have as much of a right at my turn at the console as my brother and later male roomies.

So for the love of Pete whenever I get the chance to be represented I'm going to frickin' INSIST on it!!

Shepard on one side, FemShep on the other.

And seeing as you'll get to play as FemShep in the demo, why the need for a trailer ? It won't be as good as an actual demo in showing off FemShep's new look.

Well then why do we need trailers for anything at all? Why should there be trailers for companions? They are not Shepard! Why should there be trailers for weapons and armor? They're just accessories!!

Silly silly logic there... The simple answer is, because it's marketable, that's why. Female Shepard fans are more numerous then ever and have the potential to even grow more IF they would just show her off. Because the female gaming market is bigger then ever and growing. We are getting mature with our own disposable income and choosing to spend it in gaming, our daughters are right behind us looking at what we play and saying: "One day I'll play something like that too".

Seriously a femshep trailer isn't wasted on anyone and would be a smart move on BW's part, and they know it.

LOL! This post made me chuckle... :)

Even though the female gaming market in general is growing, the amount of female gamers who actually (want to) play Third Person Action RPG Shooters (such as Mass Effect) are only a tiny tiny mini fraction of all the gamers out there. You do realize that, right?

I hate to say it, but BioWare would make a much smarter move if they'd just cater to the infamous "CoD audience" instead of the tiny small female gamer group. Oh wait, they already are catering to the "CoD audience"  (or so the majority of this forum claims).

Not everyone is going to play the demo.  The trailer isn't for people already aware of the game enough to know that there's a demo.  The trailer isn't for people who've been fans since the first or second game, the trailer is for new consumers they can attract.  If they show off the trailer and demonstrate to people that you can customize your character's gender or race, you start to get more people interested who're tired of playing the stereotypical bald/buzzcut white man.

This would probably make women especially happy that they can have a game with a female lead that isn't some farm game, puzzle game, or otherwise utter garbage.

Most female gamers I know mostly play "Angry Birds".

Girls who play those games are the exception, not the rule.

My ex-girlfriend used to be one of those GoW playing gamers, but girls like her are extremely rare and extremely hard to find. :pinched:

It's not the OP's fault, she is from a sparsely populated state of the USA.
