Indeed. Were fools because were excited about a promised trailer and its something were looking forward to after waiting years for it. What foolish to you is understandable to others.

Like I said, you may not get it or understand it. However that doesnt give you the right to try and belittle people and claim that your opinion is more valid. Just because you have no interest in it and think Bioware should be spending time on something else doesnt mean your right. You said your piece long ago but you still remain here purposely causing an argument. Your just here to troll and annoy femshep fans who have been wanting this for a long time.

No, you're not a fool for wanting a femShep trailer (hell, even I'm curious about it), you're a fool for thinking this trailer is in any way or form inmportant (to BioWare). The femShep trailer is just throwing you femShep fans a bone, there is nothing more to it. Some people say this femShep trailer is so important because otherwise BioWare would miss out on the female-gamer market (or something like that, lol ).

I also laugh at people who are totally rabid about the fact that the femShep trailer still isn't here, though BioWare still has more than a month of time left. I bet my 2 cents on BioWare releasing the femShep trailer together with the ME3 demo on february the 14th.

Listen, I understand you're psyched about the upcomming femShep trailer, but some of you really need to calm the f*ck down and take a chill pill. The trailer will come and most likely it will come together with the ME3 demo (or maybe a little earlier or a little later).

Nonsense, changing? by what measure? what are the percentages? You sound like someone who believes that men and women are identical and all you need is to push the social engineering button and a man is a woman and a woman is a man. I wam willing to bet that men liking those genres still far outstrips women.

It's the whole nature versus nurture debate. How someone is brought up can effect that person deeply. If the mother is girly, the daughter is more likely to be girly, if she is more masculine, the daughter will most likely follow that lead. There are some differences, but they're not what's stopping more girls from picking up games and hardcore games.

Here is articles about how it's women that are going to see horror film these days. One article even says female help revive ticket sales of horror films -
http://www.signonsan...1c02horror.html
http://www.ew.com/ew...0293304,00.html

Lots of females that I know that don't play, say it's childish. Their mothers expected their fathers to provide/fix up the home/etc and not waste his time on childish things and gadgets, and so they picked up that habit. They like action and horror, but when it comes to games, oh no it's so childish. Try and find one woman that hasn't seen scream or final destination. Ok female are more interested in horror movies that have a pyschological horror like paranormal activity, instead of ones heavily based in gore like hostel. There's one difference.

Men might outstrip it for now, but females are catching up.

See, you're still doing it. You're still acting like you're the only one with the valid argument, that you're ABSOLUTELY right, and everybody else is just dumb cause they don't agree with you. And you're belittling all of us FemShep fans just to feel superior.

No, BioWare isn't 'just throwing us a bone'. Because making a whole new model, adding different animations, and marketing FemShep (as much as Sheploo) for the past few months is expensive. What you're trying to do here is to satisfy your ego by acting like you know it all, and we're all dumb for making a hype about something that IS big.

Now, you can be all butthurt about FemShep as you want. You can say whatever the heck you want, but please...drop the know it all act and stop trying to annoy the FemShep fans. It makes you look like an ass.

Just as much as Sheploo eh??? So where are the femShep trailers? Where is the gameplay footage with femShep? Where are the articles and magazines with femShep on the cover?

Sorry, femShep might be big to you, but Sheploo is still the face and avatar of Mass Effect. He will always be the face of Mass Effect. I'm not a BioWare employee, but I bet my house on it that BioWare simply gave femShep that little extra attention because of her hardcore and vocal fanbase.

So instead of acting all pissed-off and demanding more from BioWare, be happy that they listen to you femShep fans in the first place. This is what makes BioWare so cool: they actually listen to their fanbase. That's why we get a special default femShep and a femShep trailer. It's nice from BioWare. So be happy and say thank you to BioWare.

People who don't think a FemShep trailer is necessary: Why do you even care? If you don't care about it, that's great, but why are some of you saying Bioware shouldn't make it at all? It seems as if you have something against video games being marketed to females and that's a problem all your own. Apparently Bioware got some sense and wants to start appealing to a wider demographic, deal with it.

And also, this isn't about people wanting to see their specific Shepard in marketing. This is about wanting to see an ENTIRE GENDER (half of the friggin population) being acknowledged. Whether you like it or not, women play video games. More women then you think play video games, and even more would play if they weren't getting the impression that games like Mass Effect are only for men. Who wouldn't think that, if that's all you see in marketing? It's not enough to just have her in game for some people, why would those who have never played Mass Effect think you could play as a woman at all unless they saw her on a poster or in a trailer?

People who are against it make no sense to me. It sounds like you're offended that Bioware would dare acknowledge a demographic of players that isn't male. Why is it that appealing to more of a demographic bothers you, do women playing video games bother you or something? It just doesn't make any sense. Marketing to women has absolutely no effect on you and it makes Mass Effect appear accessible to a wider group of people.

The FemShep trailer was promised, many people want it, it helps market to female gamers and male gamers who like to play as a female, what's the downside and why are you so surprised people want it? I honestly can't think of a reason that isn't nonsensical, sorry.

And about men being physically stronger than women: Women can get plenty strong and what does strength matter if you're using a gun. And, by the way, Shepard is a cyborg who is already stronger than the average human. Like someone else said, why is a female having super human powers more unbelievable than a male having them? That is when it starts to sound like sexism (not accusing anyone of being sexist, just that some of the things some posters say do sound sexist whether you like it or not. And I'm not just being a crazy feminist which is your go-to argument)

If I'm just a troll, as you claim I am, than why don't you just ignore me? Aren't you suppose to be so much more mature than me? Didn't you just say I'm immature? If you're so much more mature than I am, you wouldn't keep replying to my posts over and over and over again.

If I'm a troll, than I'm a succesful troll, because you keep biting like like a rabid dog. I bet you're going to response to this comment to, repeating the same crap over and over again (about how the people here supposedly pity me).

So who is really embarrasing himself here? Me because I keep trolling? Or you because you keep biting my flame-bait?

"Everyone" (e.g. only you) don't need to pity me. Pity yourself for being unable to ignore a troll.

Anyway, I made my point. I'm outta here, gonna play some Mass Effect (still need to finish a playthrough). Have fun you crazy femShep fans. :wizard:

I'm not concerned. Why do you think I even care about Sheploo? I'm merely pointing it out for you so you femShep fans don't get your hopes up and start thinking that femShep will take over Sheploo's role as being the Mass Effect avatar.

And why do you think I'm against a femShep trailer in the first place? I'm not against a femShep trailer. I never said I was. I'm simply pointing out how ridiculous - almost borderline-feminist - some of you folks here are.

It seems some folks here still believe that they need to stand up for female-gamers (or females in general) because they believe females are being oppressed. What a joke.

Females-gamers aren't oppressed, so stop pretending they are (I'm not saying that you in specific are pretending this, but some people here on this board are).

So many condescending f**ks. If you don't like femshep enough, then don't post here, why waste your time doing so.

As for the person who said they'd prefer Femshep to get a physique change and not a trailer, she should get both. But so should manshep since he looks quite out of shape as well. I can't really imagine him lugging a lot of stuff he carries around.

If femshep would get a body swap, she should look like Julia Budd, and maybe JAcob can show manshep how to workout for once.

Listen. You're not special because you're a girl-gamer. Girl-gamers are not special.

And what makes you think girl-gamers aren't being acknowledged already? There are plenty of games that are gender-neutral.

Also, I've never seen a marketing add specifically targeted at male-gamers (unless the target-audience is male), so why do you demand a marketing add specifically targeted at female-gamers.

RynJ wrote...

Most women do not like games such as Mass Effect. Even with a femShep trailer, that won't change the opinion of the vast majority of female gamers that already don't like Mass Effect.

Girls who are into sci-fi action-RPG games already like and play Mass Effect despite the fact that the avatar of Mass Effect is a man.

Girls who don't like sci-fi action-RPG games won't be playing Mass Effect, even a femShep trailer won't change their mind.

My current girlfriend, she is a self-proclaimed girl-gamer, but she doesn't care about Mass Effect. She doesn't like Mass Effect one bit. Even when she found out that you can play as a female Commander Shepard in Mass Effect, she still didn't care.

Also, why do you think that advertising a female protagonist will attract more women? Last time I checked, most Tomb Raider (a game with a female protagonist, one of the most famous female video-game protagonists in fact) fans are male, not female. Just saying.

RynJ wrote...

The only female gamers that bother me are those typical girls who think they're cool and special because they're a girl-gamer. They are little attention-seekers and they are annoying.

I'm not saying that you are one of those. Not at all. And I'm not bothered by normal female gamers. Not at all.

All irrelevant. Women are biologically programmed to be sex symbols and men are biologically programmed to chase after them. Women=looks and youth, Men=money and resources. I was ever thus and Femshep won't change anything about it.
