I personally like this femshep video because it shows the many faces of custom created femsheps. We didn't need a default shep, we ARE the default shepards. Bioware should have made something like that instead.

I dunno, I feel the exact opposite about that video.

While it is well done, it shows that Femshep is less of a character than Maleshep.

It's like saying "Maleshep is this big, goddamned galactic hero.. Femshep is just you guys playing a game".

I'd just like to chime in and say to all the people who seem to be of the opinion that women are in some way less effective soldiers than men. I'm a male spec ops unit leader. I have three women in my unit. Recon and stealth, sniper, demo. Those three women are without a doubt the finest soldiers I've ever had the privilege of working with, both mentally and physically. So, to say that women can't do a "man's" job, that is pure fabrication. On the topic: As a FemShep player myself, I'm glad to see that BioWare are giving her the recognition she deserves

1. Not in Europe. Well, not in The Netherlands (where I live) for sure. I'm a game-design student but I also work as a freelancer. Most of my class-mates and collegues do the same. We all get paid roughly the same, regardless of our gender. I also used to work in a super market as a little extra job for a bit extra money. My best friend (a female) worked there too. We're both of the same age and we both had the same job in the supermarket. We both got paid the same.

The issue still stands in the netherlands.
Eurostat found a persisting gender pay gap of 17.5 % on average in the 27 EU Member States in 2008. There were considerable differences between the Member States, with the pay gap ranging from less than 10% in Italy, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Belgium to more than 20% in Slovakia, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Germany, United Kingdom and Greece and more than 25% in Estonia and Austria.

2. Name 1 of those duties that women are not allowed to preform in the army, because I don't know any. Also tell me why that is (because if that's true, there probably is a reason behind it).

Women can't be navy seals or army rangers, regardless of physical ability.

3. Women are physically weaker on average. That's why they are more prone to abuse. The only way to change this is for the women to go to a gym and work out. Physically fit and strong women are less prone to abuse.

Physical strength plays a role, but men just abuse women more frequnetly, more severly and more persistantly than women abusing men, by nearly 3/4's.

Aaannddd I'm done derailing, I swear

Not possible, all of my femsheps have light eyes and I personally don't like WIlliams much, she dies more ofthen than Kaidan.

Not bad, I actually like they default they chose. She looks fierce and angry, like the commander should.

Nevermind, I don't want to keep this going off topic.

Instead let me say, Bioware, if you make a femShep trailer it will make a lot of fans very happy.

The OP has repeatedly requested people to stop derailing the thread.

But on your post: BS.

Your profile says you live in England. Women are not allowed into direct combat roles in the British armed forces.

That means NO SPEC OPS.

So stop derailing the thread with things that are "pure fabrication" to try and provoke more arguments.

Edit: Done this time. No matter what other BS is spouted; I will not respond.

Does anyone else think that the new default FemShep looks a little...young? Just her facial features look more akin to someone who's 18-20 instead of 31

Great healthcare. But yeah, she should at least look slightly older.

They don't get to be BECAUSE of physical ability.

Limitations of biology and body. It's just the way it is. Funny how people want to pretend the differences between a man and a woman don't exist.
Seals, Rangers and other spec ops are exceptionally demanding - even among the fittest of men, few qualify. Olympics demonstrate the differences quite nicely - and it war there is no reward for second place.

The problem is not so much that Femshep looks young (as a 30+ year old probably would by that time in the future), but that compared to Sheploo she looks too young.

They're both supposed to be the same age, and yet Sheploo looks like a modern day human in his thirties while this femshep looks like a modern day 18 year old girl.

That also is just the first art after the default shep was chosen. I doubt they had a model really set in stone.
