So, Treehouse used tubes this time around? Bleh. Whatever happened to using flat-packaging, just with more protection?

They ship the 18x24 lithos flat. I believe the 22x39 lithos are too large to do so without both the cost and risk of damage becoming prohibitive. A large, flat package becomes increasingly likely to sustain bending damage as it increases in size.

I'm of the opinion that all lithos should be rolled and shipped in crush-proof tubes.
If rolled with great care, most lithos should arrive damage-free.
Again though, the person that rolls the art, needs to know what he is doing; 'cause if they're not rolled properly, the art will be  damaged before it even leaves the warehouse.

Lithographs are prone to rippling in tubes, which is why I dislike them. But hey, whichever is the least costly, right?

I thought the rippling occurs when being rolled, not while in the tube. I have no way to prove this though. Do you have proof that the rippling occurs while in tubes?

Making an issue over nothing. I received two lithos in tubes both in perfect condition. There is always going to be risk of damage whatever the method of shipment.

I just got m Earth Alliance litho and while it was packed well & in perfect condition on arrival, I'm slightly annoyed that its numbered in the 400s despite being ordered in the first minutes of its release. I wish Treehouse would be consistent about guaranteeing a low number if you were one of the first to place your order.

Im very glad its random.  Resolves a lot of other potential issues.  Most noticably it stops ebayers pouncing and instantly getting a low number which they can sell for more.  This sale was also accidentally released 30 minutes early and 100+ units were sold when I arrived early 10 minutes before release.  Knowing I missed out on a low number because of a mistake would be sad.

So yes its swings and roundabouts. Some you win and some you lose.  Its still the best system regardless in my eyes

Also if you could take some pics that be awesome!  B)

I wouldn't get too uptight: same thing's happened to me numerous times, but it's a signed litho that I want, not the number.  Still, I must admit to really liking a no. 1 and a no. 3 that I got purely by good fortune: makes up for all those 423/500s that I usually end up with!

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to have my own pity party on the board.

I really love the litho and I'm excited that I got it without any defects.  The icing on the cake would have been if it had a low number.  I was late on the litho bandwagon and I actually only buy the ones I really like.  I just wish I would get a low number for a change, because most of mine are 300 or higher.  The Team is my lowest number and its 77 (which I actually think is pretty cool).

Anyway, as soon as I save up the spare change to order another frame & some matboards, I'll post some pics of it. No clue where I'm gonna hang it, but I'm just happy to own it.  ;)

@Sensei I've been in this since Illium and I got my first low number with Miranda and legion. Most of mine are the last 100 signed (usually the last 10-25) so it really is the luck of the draw. I have one single digit I think....I'm happy enough with that. Haven't looked at the numbers in forever so I've really forgotten a lot of it.

I think they might be Alice Madness Returns lithographs, so they don't count :P

I think the no.1 was a Portal litho.  I almost had it... almost... =P

It was indeed!  It was the rather nice '70s lithograph: I didn't realise until my other half pointed it out.  "Have you seen the number?"  "Yes, I have one of 100, what of it?"  "No, you have number 1 of 100!"  So not only did I get it through absolutely no merit whatsoever, I didn't even notice!

SR-2 Prototype and Dead Reaper are my lowest at #11.   No single figures for me.

My Alice ones probably would have been quite low except they reserved the first 50 into that massive buy eleven bundle.  :P

They've publicly stated multiple times that numbers are random and that it's a system issue. It would likely take a complete overhaul of the system to deal them out in order, which isn't worth it to them. Plus random is nice as it gives you some surprise. That was awesome when I got my #5 character 3 pack. Regardless though, I don't see how a number makes a litho better or worse. It's nice to have low I guess, but I'll take a litho in general any day.

Yes. I think it worked out very nicely.
