ME3 pre-orders across all platforms:
Pos          Name                      Plat.         Weeks             Change          Total
1           Mass Effect 3            X360            7                    62,062          598,324
7           Mass Effect 3            PS3             7                    10,292          129,995
23         Mass Effect 3            PC               7                    591               74,139

I wonder if Origin has something to do with the low PC turn out.

No, that's because no one plays PC games. But that's okay. I'm not going to tell what to play games on.

"After the failure of DA2, ME3's sales are doomed." - Everyone on the internet

I want to laugh at them, but at this point it would feel like kicking someone when they're down. And they've got cancer. And their entire family recently died in a car accident. And they just lost all their life savings to another Wall Street scam. And it's raining and their tent is leaking in. And there are mosquitos and Cazadores everywhere.

No suprise considering everyone only goes for the console pre-orders because of Origin.

Edit: Oh well i think thats why, VGchartz only count US pre-orders, what us european pre-orders ever done to you? thats just stupid!

That's why PC pre-orders were rising by a couple thousands each week prior the Origin announcement and now barely increase 500+ weekly?

Look a few weeks back and you'll find that the rate of change for PC pre-orders was much greater than it is now.

Also, not to rain on the parade, but now that we're so close to the end of the console cycle and the hardware is getting cheaper, there are more people who have Xbox 360s now than there used to be. That might have something to do with the dramatic increase in pre-orders. (On the other hand, the popularity of ME2 probably does, too.)

Well, that might also have something to do with it.

I hope I get to see the PC chart some day. And see a MASSIVE drop in pre orders at the time Origin was confirmed. That'll teach EA.

I pre-ordered ME3 for the PC at GameStop ($5 down basically) when I bought DA2 on it's release. I then switched my pre-order to the Collector's Edition as soon as it was announced there would be one AND paid the rest in full (bringing total to like $80+). Now all I got to do is walk in with my receipt or scan my PowerUp Rewards card.

It was a no brainer for me after missing out on pre-ordering ME2. I didn't want to make the same mistake again.  So I pretty much had the game pre-ordered an entire year in advance.

Can someone put up a chart of the PC version? I'm curious if origin really did have an impact. I'd do it myself but you need to be a vgchartzpro or something?

Ten of them are mine because it is the only way to get all the content with these whack exclusive deals everywhere.

I kid, I kid. But two of them really are mine.

This claim should be prefixed with "in North America".  The PC gaming market is healthier in Europe.

And the fact that it is just origin could be a huge assumption as well. for all you know the pre-orders for PC are just hitting a saturation point and Origin only counts for a small piece of the drop.  But nobody ever figures that anymore.

two of them on different platforms are mine as well... Using the Multiplayer to draw some friends into the game. And then I have it on my main platform.  Getting all of the exclusives is just a bonus to that evil plot of mine.

Most PC gamers diss Origin because they are Half Life fans and believe Valve and whatever it makes is the best.
I for once prefer Origin for a couple of reasons.

1) It just installed and worked as it should, while Steam had a problem and their support couldn't help me,I was searching the internet for weeks until I found random dude on a chat and he told me to use the Command Prompt, and I only got Steam to work by adding additional code random internet dude knew of.

2)Origin is translated to my language while Steam is not. While I speak English very well,it's more convinient to use a program at my own language.

Mass Effect 2 was so awesome, people got incredibly hyped and are hoping for a similarly great game in ME3.

Makes sense to me.

Teach them what, to have them focus exclusively for consoles?
