I want to bring Legion on talis loyalty mission but I know you get the reaper IFF when you get legion and when you install it your crew gets taken. I also know that depending on how many missions you do while your crew is captured they can die off. I forget if you can still travel around without the reaper IFF or if it force installs it.

Depends on how many missions you've done. I was able to hold off the IFF activation by holding off on Jacob's loyalty mission until last (in fact it was the only thing left to do); when we left to do his mission the IFF sequence started.

So I should hold off on talis loyalty mission then I guess? I just want to hear the dialog in game and have him tell the quarians about the peace they'd want cause it makes me feel like I've done something toward them. Do you mean the abduction started? This is what you do: Finish of all missions but Talis loyalty-mission before getting the IFF (and Legion). After the mission, go down and activate Legion but DO NOT TALK TO HIM! If you do you'll activate his loyalty mission, and you don't want to do that yet. Instead go finish Talis mission. When you get back, Kelly says that Legion whishes to speak with you. When you speak to him now, you'll activate his mission. If you do it this way the crew won't be taken until after his mission and you can still save everyone on the SM. Another fun thing to do is wait to meet the council until you have Legion and bring him along. ^^

You should be able to do both Tali and Legion's loyalty missions after the Reaper IFF.
Once you get Legion onboard, you can have your first conversation and do his Widow upgrade. Then do Tali's loyalty mission. Come back and Legion will tell you about his LM. Do that. Then the abduction should occur. Leave an N7 mission to go on or something.
^ Edit: That is false. Simply talking to him does NOT activate his LM. I have play-tested that.

Ya, Someone said that in the thread I linked. Plan on doing that. I usually wait till I finish the SM to do all the side quests anywayHolyAvenger wrote...
