I bought the single editition of the game a little while ago for around $12 and after playing it for a month or so and thought about getting some of the DLCs. But after looking online I realized that for $20 I could buy Ultimate and get everything (Awakening, Leliana's Song, et al) as opposed to onesey-twoseying it using the point system.
However, some reviews I read stated that the DRM on Ultimate was very restrictive. In addition to the recent server problem that crippled everyone's DLCs for a weekend there was also mention that one could only install the game a maximum of three times. After that you'd have to buy the game again. Does anyone know if this is true?

Check the PC tech forum.
My gut says if you buy it on the disc this three time thing doesn't exist. The steam and all I can't say. It may be something in the TOS or wahtever as I've heard this over the years about a few programs. Never ran into trouble installing anything multiple times.

ME-1 did have that type of install, although the last patch modified it if you used the uninstall in between installs.
