So I have been reading the David Gaider books for the past month or so. In the books characters battle the darkspawn a lot of times...
Something doesn't add up...
In the books the darkspawn blood is BLACK and the author goes through great lenghts to remind us of that fact every chance he gets...
Now fast forward to all the trailers we see coming out and the blood is definatelly RED in all the trailers....
What is going on? That's a huge black hole in the storyline as the black blood has a lot do do with the storline (without spoiling anything)
Were the developers and the author not on the same page?
Or was red blood introduced just as a merketing mechanism to make the game as bloody as possible...
Strange....
Red blood or black blood?!

That is kind of strange yeah, I haven't read the books but in the Flash game the darkspawn blood is also most definitively black.

Exactly. How can you write two books about the history of this fantasy world and build it for a game....and then you get the blood color wrong when it is a huge part of the storyline....

They were making a point there to spite the yellow press
For the US gay sex scenes
For Europe huge splatters of deeply red blood even from insects, zombies without heartbeat and black-blooded semi demons.

It's possible that the trailers aren't made in-house and the artists behind the trailers either don't know its supposed to be black or don't care.
Also possible that the black blood wouldn't show up very well against the background so they reverted to red to make it look 'more impressive'
