Well basically, all Asari in ME1 are sl*ts.

Well except for one, one that Thane kills in ME2.

I'm really liking the sound of Oleg haven't heard of him before because I don't keep up with the comics. I constantly want to reform Cerberus into a new direction and path, and it would be cool if you could get this guy to help you reform Cerberus after removing TIM from power.

So is Aria; her entire story is stealing Patriach's strength through the Asari's natural advantage of being omnisexual.

If he has an amazing dancing bear, I'm all for him.

*Virtual high five for whoever gets that somewhat out of the blue reference*

Oleg certainly does represent an alternative Cerberus; he shows the possibilities that exist for the organization if it chooses to reform. And now I feel justified being a pro-Cerberus paragon. I don't support many of their methods, but I support their mission 100%, as is the case with Oleg. And I think his victory in Omega demonstrates the effectiveness of the pro-human paragon path, in contrast to Colonel Ashe's more... "traditional" Cerberus approach. You know, kill things, make more enemies than necessary, damn the consequences.

I just realized that Michael and Rebekah, the humans arguing over the baby in ME1, also have the last name Petrovsky. Weird.

I'm sorry, but how is that even remotely weird? Petrovsky is a rare surname, sure, but it's not rare enough that every single person who has it has to be related.

The Rule of Narrative Naming. No, that's not a tvtropes link, although I'm sure the subject matter is covered. You don't often see even common names repeated within a work, however unrealistic as that may be. To see something a bit less common (in North American productions, I mean) brought up twice is especially jarring when following said rule.

I do like it when the rule is broken, though. It's pretty unbelievable. I like how there are totally three Jacobs. Two of which are dead and the third dies in many playthroughs though. Poor guys.

^3 Jacob's?

I only know for 2.

Guy that was in a coma on some ship with some crazy woman in ME1 and Jacob Taylor.

The pregnant widow and that brother of the dead husband, or whatever they were, that I was bringing up. The other Petrovskys. Well, the dead husband's name was Jacob. Weird, eh? Two dead Jacobs in one game, and then they make an important Jacob who doesn't get the warmest of fan receptions.

Sometimes I head-canon that the Jacobs in ME1 are one and the same. That crazy chick on the ship? Maybe it was an affair. Talk about Law & Order episode... in space!

^Hmh, you didn't answer my question.

Er, I did though.

Jacob #1: Guy in coma on ship.
Jacob #2: Dead guy referenced by Petrovskys. He's never explicitly mentioned as the same guy. Like I said, I head-canon that he is, but the way Julia reacts in the recordings and the fact that Jacob doesn't necessarily have to be dead already (could be brain-dead) before the Petrovskys appear on the Citadel means he could very likely be a separate Jacob, odd as it is.
Jacob #3: The Prize.

No problem. Like I said, it seems like those two Jacobs ought to be the same person, really, but some of the things just don't add up.

Never really thought of Liara as a *loose* person.  Childish, but not loose.

That being said Oleg probablly has the potential to become my favorite or second favorite supporting cast member (Second only to Joker).

That would be interesting, and could be a good way to introduce the character for people who have played ME1.

^ Since I have no graphical skills, I vote not me.

But on Oleg I thought the character was great. In fact I really enjoyed the series, really getting me in the mood for ME3. I was sure that he would get ass-whipped by Aria after seeing the DFWA cover but the humanity (for want of a better word) he showed in the end of issue 3 made me think again. He was not just some expendable bad guy to allow Omega's defender's look cool.

I really hope he is in ME3. It would be interesting to be able to chose to side with Oleg or Aria. Assuming that he is not indoctrinated or anything silly.

Regarding Mac Walter's tweet...I would guess that "maybe" means "yes"

Watched through the thread, and i have a mixed impressions about this character. I'm russian and i can 100% say Oleg's a cliche character. Though i liked the way it progressed through the comics. But hey, he looks like those guys from "The russians are coming.." which makes me giggle a lot. Bet he's gonna be next in-charge of the Cerberus when Shep pulls the trigger in TIM's head, which is sad too.

A beard, book and quotations from Tolstoy, a self determined officer, stereotipical, like in Hunt for the Red October (seriously, he looks the same), rude in his methods, like a classical KGB guy in TV shows. Well, it's a sci fi, let it be so ;)
