That still doesn't reflect an entire group as a whole.

...And?

Nowhere did I say 100% of the Tali fanbase is nothing but mouth breathing window lickers.

They ARE the only group to actually talk about something like that.

I don't think that one conversation that happened one time really means anything.

Of course you don't, you're a Talimancer. You also weren't here.

I see; now you're judging me by my favourite character. How perfectly mature of you.

I wasn't judging you. Those words you put in my mouth taste terrible.

What about them?

Much of Tali's fanbase is more than a little on the obsessive side.

Don't know what he's talking about with Garrus, his fans don't seem to be particularly vocal he's just generally pretty popular and no one seems to dislike him.

There seem to be a fair number of obsessive Liara, Miranda, and Kaidan fans too.

I'm not seeing any issue here.

I haven't seen anyone ask what Liara, Miranda, or Kaidan's sweat tastes like.

Tali, on the other hand...

So because one person asked something, that makes them all obsessive?

Multi-page discussions are not typically carried out by a single person.

a.) that happened almost a year ago, was made by one person, and most of the replies were along the lines of "what the literal ****" and "we-are-so-bored-and-have-run-all-the-topics-related-to-her-dry-that-there-is-nothing-else-to-do-but-talk-about-this"

b.) Tali's fanbase (or any fanbase for that matter) cannot and should not be represented by the worst common denominator. You must get the aggregate, just like anything else. Most Talifans are ****ing tired of being told that they're crazy, subhuman excuses for living beings simply because a few very vocal Talifans in the early days took it a little too far by normal standards (and by normal standards I mean "non-internet" standards because craziness on the internet should not be surprising). There are and will always be the "crazy" vocal minority and the chill majority in EVERY fanbase. The bigger the fanbase, the bigger that crazy minority will be.

Lets not get into a fight over characters and their fanbases guys.

I mean I don't flip out every time someone calls Liara boring......those dirty bastards.

Talimancer, in the literal sense, means someone who prefers to romance Tali as their "canon" 'mance

however, on BSN, Talimancer is a derogatory term (or rather, has been used with derogatory connotations)

Aye, and those people talking bad about my boy Legion. A pox upon their families XD.
Seriously though, I think the smaller squad is good idea for the sake of the story. As long as the ME2 characters' stories are appropriately concluded (it need not be lengthy, just complete). I'd like to see the whole team back, but I admit that this is better for the finale.

It simply means what it means, any further connotations you people have given to it yourselves.

What happened to the old school rabid Justin Bieberish type of Tali-fanaticism? These new guys are all about crucifying themselves. From 9-5 they climb on their big ass cross on their lawns hang there for all to see.

******.

@Kaiser Shepard - I don't follow. Are you saying that any negative connotations the term Talimancer has is our fault, even the ones that don't frequent BSN, have only recently joined, and/or those who were never the "problem" to begin with? Or are you saying that any negative connotation the term has is us looking into it too much and "trying" to find hints of antagonism in its use?

Because I've seen examples on these boards where it's been used as something derogatory...enough to mildly annoy me

also,

This is how I interpreted it:
"Of course you don't realize that one person who was really bored and looked a little too much into things could POSSIBLY represent the entire fanbase, you are part of the fanbase, therefore your argument is invalid."

I don't mind having less squadmate. but from what it seems, they tend to focus permanent members to be from ME1 and left those ME2 only as temporary ones. that's sad.

Budget. Time constraints. Content cuts.

Yup. This excuse that they "Want more personal interactions." is bogus. If Grunt is not a permanent squadmate in ME3 I'm going to be pissed. There better be a krogan squadmate. A Mass Effect game without a permanent Krogan squadmate is not a true ME game.

It's a more limited number than in the second game, but, look at the bright side: they will be able to deepen the characters. I like it.

Nothing is perfect.

It's not that there are less, it's how much less.  Couldn't we have come to happy medium of, like, eight?  Plus, why sneeze at ALL of the ME2 people?  I suppose because they could (in theory) all be dead.

Tali and Garrus.

Those two are special cases.  They can die, but they can appeal to both ME2 and ME1 fans in ways that the others cannot.

"Special" indeed. Just look at their fanbases.

Double entendre.

There's always room for more DLC.

Each DLC could be centered around squadmates that weren't permanent provided they're alive.

I think more squadmate DLC is a must given the limited variety of the confirmed and rumored permanent squaddies.

Unfortunately, I doubt that we'll see any more of our ME2 squaddies being added on as permanent squadmates since they've already got a predetermined cameo role in ME3.

On the uphand they could still add in a new Krogan and/or Sentinel squaddie which would make me happy, although not as happy as I'd be if I got Wrex or Miranda back.

The next ME3 DLC will be about resurrecting the Virmire Corpse.

You heard it here first.
