Only if they actually experience said compulsion. You can't answer that either.

Thane was affected emotionally, but Morinth...she reveled in it, no remorse or guilt...again she chose to go on a spree.

Yeah, but I'm not claiming Morinth was subjected to a visceral diagnosis.

There's more proof on my side for it. Morinth and her sisters were raised by the same mother, in the same society, and were born with the same disorder. If they DON'T experience the same compulsion to kill, not only would they not have to be secluded, there better be a hell of a reason why Morinth turned out different.

If Morinth had sex first and the others didn't, only she would have the compulsion.

But who said the disorder manifests with sex? Samara said "reaches maturity".

The addiction doesn't show up until someone's killed already.

Not that I recall. Surely the only test for it isn't having sex with someone and monitoring their brain waves.

My only concern with swapping Morinth for Samara is that she comes to the team, underpowered. Without the benefit of gaining skillpoints through all the previous missions, her abilities are kinda anemic. Has anyone figured out a good pattern to build up Morinth as quickly as possible?

Recruit and do Samara's mission as early as possible.

Strange people...choose Morinth over Samara??? Samara is awesome! Besides, if you talk with her more she'll tell about Morinth and how infinitely sick and perverted she is. A disease to purged, nothing more!

I do wonder, however, what it is that Shepard must do during the game to make Samara want to kill him....

The condition exists beforehand. The addiction doesn't appear until sex.

We both know that she wasn't lying :D   This particular moment of the game story is really when "But she could be lying!" hardly applies

Even my paragons were tempted to get rid of Samara for Morinth. Shepard needs a crew that can survive the most dangerous mission possible, at least until the Collectors are defeated. Morinth spent 400 years surviving, Samara spent just as long failing to kill Morinth.

Which is all the more ironic since, post-game, Morinth actually does take the opportunity to try and kill Shepard if she gets it. Arguments to justify killing Samara instead of Morinth are really flimsy.

Morinth spent 400 years as a convict on the run. She was also living under a false name for however long. "Morinth" isn't her real name.

I'm not sure how good a bounty hunter you are, but searching for 1 single person through an entire galaxy can take a while, especially if your target is saying they're someone else.

Pfft, Shepard happened across Conrad Verner, Gianna Parasini, Shiala and others by accident ^_^

There really is no other way, sorry. You have to grab her after Horizon, do 2 other missions then she'll ope up hers. Plenty of time after that. The only other way is gibbed.

@Android654: If it is to be believed that the chemistry of the brain - as well as the physiological make up of the brain... predisposes people like serial killer to do what they do... then there is absolutely nothing different.

In fact... an argument might be made that given that he had no control over his environment - someone like John Wayne Gacy could NOT stop himself from being a killer. There's plenty of indications that serial killers know that what they are doing is wrong.

So - for me - someone like Gacy is even more sympathetic in the fact that it seems that fate truly was stacked against him (that doesn't change the fact that someone like that either needs to be put away forever - or executed - I prefer the former)

We're told that Morinth "could have" controlled herself... she chose not to.

Sucks to be Morinth (or any AY), yes, but what would you have them do? A single AY managed to make herself out as a physical goddess to a bunch of tribal Asari.
