Did it ever occur to you that there are non-money related reasons they didn't bring Beattie back? Like the obvious attitude problems he's demonstrated over not being brought back? Typically money, unavailability or a clash of personalities are why voice actors aren't brought back... methinks it's either option two or three.

Seriously though, they couldn't find a better actor?  Heck even a strictly voice over actor?  I guess that Clint Mansell money really made them cheap out in a lot of areas.  

Plenty of Day 1 DLC to go around!

Don't know nor do I really care.  Yeah, god forbid someone nails a role, whose work is touted as oustanding by fans and critics alike gets a little miffed because Bioware never even contacts him.  Clash of personalities?   These aren't world class, respected filmmakers...they're making a video game.

Freddie Prinze Jr.??? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Yeah, it was starting to feel almost... surreal without it.

Took them long enough, it was funny seeing all the nice comments. 

And really, a decade? He was just on the last season of 24 and he did a fine good job IMO. 

I'm not his biggest fan when it comes to his acting, however when we're simply talking about VO he fits quite well. I'm glad it wasn't a "big name actor" because often the time when you bring in some of that nature, it's hard to disguish the character and the actor playing them. 

I call it the Tom Cruise a effect, with all that's happen with him over the past few years, unless he's dressed up as someone else (like Trophic Thunder) anytime I see him in a role, I don't see him as the character. I just see Tom Cruise.

I kinda agree, All I know him from are a horrible comedy Shes all that, some horrible childrens movies Scooby-Doo and a horrible scifi flick Wing Commander... Not exactly thrilled.

But hey maybe Vegas personality will kinda suit his voice. Dont know yet.

Getting a little angry at not being contacted at all even as the release approaches is not unreasonable - and the fact that there's a lot of support among the fanbase for bringing him back hasn't swayed Bioware at all.

I'm sorry but hiring Freddie Prinze jr. did not stop Bioware from re-hiring Beattie.

I doubt Freddie gets more money than Martin Sheen or Clint Mansell.<_<

There are alot bigger names who would be getting quite a bigger payload over him.

There probably was another reason which we will never know.

Yeah, a decade.  The last season of 24?  Weren't the last few season ratings in the toilet?  I haven't paid attention to that show in a quite a few years.  Wasn't Bioware hyping this up as a big surprise?  Ridiculous and awesomely terrible.

They should have made Vega an African Earthian or whatever the country setup is in ME3 and got Stringer Bell aka Idris Elba for the role.

 Well unless Caroline Livingstone is a straight up liar, she did mention that Freddie is a video gamer and has been a fan of the Mass Effect franchise. If nothing else, he's played the games and has a good core of what the series means. 

What more could you ask of a person that's voicing a vital role in the final game?
