The weapon isnt found on Mars, the blueprints for building it are. They still dont tell how the weapon is supposed to work or be used(it's not some giant cannon, I can tell you that). The info about that is somewhere else. Also it's a massive undertaking that takes resources of multiple species to study and build.

There has to be.  The Reapers can't be plausibly defeated with main force alone.  The galaxy doesn't have nearly enough of it.

Amd you're basing this opinion on... what? One dreadnought reaper tearing down a dozen or so of the much smaller fifth fleet ships and the citadels skeleton defense? Swatting flies isn't impressive, and less so when outnumbered and caught off guard. Don't think I saw anything much bigger than the normandy... and that one capital ship with the council never got in range of the reaper.

A Reaper Dreadnought can easily kill a Alliance Dreadnought. It has been shown in game. Also one of the smallest Reaper ships can take orbital fire and walk away without much damage. Plus if you watch the Beta if you see how quickly they took Earth then you would know that it is impossible to defeat the Reapers conventionally. Hell in this video Mac Walters even says that one Reaper was nearly unstoppable.

At this point it is very clear that the Reaper armada cannot be defeated with the combined military might of the Citadel and Terminus species.

He says: "Good luck Shepard."

Hard to say does he say that in ME3 or re-used line from ME2.

How about with skill, good decision making, some sacrifice? In other words, how about with good writing, rather than some deus ex Deathstar?
