imba? If you mean overpowered as hell then yes. The Reapers were meant to be overpowered from the beginning. That is not the problem.

Hard to say does he say that in ME3 or re-used line from ME2.

Nope it is "Good bye" (I re-checked the video, see from 2:56 in the video) and I don't think this is from ME2, because there is a guy next to him in this.

Mass Effect really needs to do this Reaper war as an RTS... it's the only way to do justice to scale of the conflict and the intensity of the fighting. Hopefully a spin off that happens in a similar timefroam as ME3 isn't out of the question.

The Protheans lost but it sounds like the implication is they were close to finding out how to win when they got snuffed out.

But seriously - I was hoping for something a little more original, or at the very least, wasn't dug up from an ancient civilization.

Attrition is the way the Reapers win. With the ability to create new forces with indoctrination and husks they can continue to build and grow as the conflict grinds on. The history shows they mount a blitz on the Citadel and then grind down the rest of the civs.

You knew there had to be something that provided a magic button effect to stop them - computer virus. super EMP gun or some other bit. They're too tough. Bioware made the point of having one of them blow through the Citadel forces like they didn't exist and now they're sending a lot of them. Just getting a bunch of ships was never gonna be enough.

The Reapers have been resisted when they've shown up that's for sure. You figure the protheans built on what that race knew possibly and that what is happening now is the culmination of however many cycles of organics learning to resist the Reapers.
