Im writing my post in regards to the downloadable content, it seems to me like bioware has chosen to penny scratch there fans by submiting content such as weapons and characters as downloadable content, my reason for bringing this up was because of my experence with downloadable content, i had bought the game and downloaded the Zaeed character but now because i have moved (and have no internet where i stay), my content is no longer availible to me even though i downloaded it, my question is why couldnt bioware just put this content in the game when it first launched .....

What's worse is the fact that DLC prices do not depreciate over time, unlike the price of the actual game. Fun fact: thanks to Steam's holiday sale, I purchased Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition for a measly $15. That includes Origins, the Awakening expansion, and ALL of the DLC. Wanna know how much the DLC costs alone through the Bioware store? $40+ in BW points.

DLC costs as much now as it did when first released. Can anyone really say that this is fair, and keep a straight face?

Ya' know, I'd never really thought about that. Interesting observation.

I'm fairly certain EA sets the prices actually. But to heck with it, everything is BioWare's fault already.

OP, I do have a question though: are you on 360? If so, assuming that you're using the original console + hard drive on which you downloaded Zaeed, the game should be giving you the option to play offline. I just got off ME2 about five minutes ago having just done that.

Yeah if you have a different console you have to do a license transfer.

Sure. No problem. Of course, I'd be lying, but I'd be lying with a straight face.

Of course it's fair. You don't have a right to demand lower prices on a non-essential video game DLC down the road, just because you don't want to pay the price at release.

DLC is linked to your account, not your location. If you're having problems with DLC, try contacting EA support instead of making ignorant rants on a forum that has nothing to do with your problem.

They could have put a lot of the content in the game when it first launched, if you were willing to have the game delayed, and cost more.

Zaeed was apart of the game if it was released the same day. Don't be naive.

That's certainly a distinct possibility.  It is not, however, a settled fact.

What's happening here is this:
On the PC, all Mass Effect 2 DLC has to be validated every few days in order for it to remain active and available. If you're without internet for a few days, all Mass Effect 2 DLC is deauthorized until the next time your computer is connected to the internet when you run Mass Effect 2.

op mentions characters, not character. that means plural, and kasumi didnt come out until much, much later. dont be an idiot.

No it isn't. It is also possible that Zaeed wasn't finished in time to be put into the game before it went gold and was only finished up before release.

BioWare sold themselves to EA, so yes, it is their fault!

Anyways, I find it pretty dirty to prepare content that they are telling us is worth playing well in advance of release, but then they won't put it on the disc because they can make us pay again for something made as part of ME3's development. This didn't happen back in the days of ME1 and before. Back then, if they could get something done by launch, it was because they wanted to add to the game. Now they make it and think it is fine to cut it off and sell it as "extra".

So tell me BioWare, if you made this content during the regular development, but then cut it off as optional, am I to assume it was originally part of the definitive game or that the game as it stands on the disc is the definitive experience?

I tend to assume now that if it isn't on the disc, it isn't the game as they intend for everyone to see it. So my first play through is DLC free because the DLC is the stuff they could care less if everyone sees and thus many who won't have access to it are to experience the game as it stands on disc. It is the stuff that they market before release as being worth playing, but their actions of leaving it as separate cuttings means it is an optional augmentation and the game on the disc is the game as they want everyone to see it.

I see the real ME3 as the game that ships on the disc. DLC is for fooling around with later.

That it was released the same day is an indisputable fact. Whether he would have been included if there was no DLC transaction model is unknown. Certainly, his addition in the game wasn't as high quality as the other characters. IIRC, you can't even talk to him on the Normandy, which makes me think that he was cut content and/or they didn't have enough time to polish him up as anything more than an extra.

Besides, he came with all new copies of ME2 did he not?

That honestly can't be 'why' because I got the Ultimate Edition on Origin for a similar price. I also got the ME2 DDE for $10.

So... What I'm getting from your rant is that you hate the fact that DLC seems to be locked on the disk or game. Well here's the truth. Kasumi for example is locked but not all the stuff (code) is available on it. If you tried tampering with it you would just get a small percentage of it. Developers do this to make sure it will work. It's not entirely locked so to speak. Kasumi was just going to come out inevitable. If you  can't afford a few dollars, euros, pounds, whatever then maybe you shouldn't buy soda or a candy bar.
