Current Gen (all can be found on Xbox 360):
Lost Odyssey
Blue Dragon
Enchanted Arms
The Last Remnant
Fist of The North Star: Ken's Rage
Sacred 2

Divinity II: Dragon Knight Saga
WET (Eliza Dushku FTW!)
Spectral Force 3

I own and have played all of the bolded ones; how funny! I will never, and I mean NEVER, get that Enchanted Arms fight music out of my head. I still can't believe I beat that.

And I love Kaim, Seth, and Ming; and Kenshiro, Rei, Toki, and Mamiya...and my Seraphim from Sacred 2... And Mr. Diggs...

I can't believe I made it as far as I did in Enchanted arms. That game had dialogue so bad, it was good.

Moron moron moron moron moron moron moron! (It was almost kefka-esque.)

Has anyone recommended Hunted: The Demon's Forge?

Game got pretty average ratings, but I really enjoyed the fluid combat.

Whenever I get the choice in games I always play with warrior types first time round (with a 2-handed weapon if possible), but I've got to say I found E'lara's gameplay so much more fun than Caddock's.

I did enjoy the banter between them though, and they did a nice job conveying the two characters as quite unremarkable heroes, being just regular mercenaries.

Snatcher. It's far from perfect, but if you were ever a fan of blade runner, the game's a classic. It's way back from the Sega CD days. It was different from anything else on that system, I can say that much.

As far as more modern underrated games...

Eternal Sonata. One of the most colorful RPGs you will ever play. I recommend that one. It has a very unique premise, and doesn't dissapoint for some old school JRPGing.

Metro 2033. Buggy but challenging and enjoyable.

Metro 2033 is a game that's great at instilling claustrophobia. Outside of the brief portions outside, I've never felt so cramped inside of a video game world. I liked many of the concepts involving ammunition trade, even if it lacked proper balance. I loved the incoming spoiler part where they play around with shadows, it was very creative to me.

Good times.

Lost Odyssey

This, definitely. Abosolutely fantastic game.

Tales of Vesperia and Magna Carta 2 are both good, and quite underrated here. Perhap ToV isn't elsewhere.
Also, if you like first person then Mirror's Edge is a good game.
Enslaved is another.
And if you don't mind older Xbox games then Beyond Good and Evil is a marvellous choice.

Any Tell of Tales game. I bought the pack, and it's the one buy I regret the less in steam.

Though they really need you to strech the definition of "game". It's more like interactive sorta-ambient artsy stuff. Indie, of course.

There's this one game where you die. That's it. You die... (edit: but only in the full version)

NO! Fable 3 can rot in hell forever. I already played and was super disappointed by the crap mechanics and the overly easy gameplay. I will stick to Fable 2 if I never need a Fable fix, but Fable 3 can just die and go to hell.

Depends on what you mean by "Underrated"

Doesn't get enough attention Underrated? Well, off the top of my head

Dark Souls
STALKER series
METRO 2033

There are others, but right now i can't think of many.

oh, and if you can handle the aging, My Absolute Number 1 recommendation in this Category would be Planescape:Torment

Also, Grim Fandango.

Has a Bad Reputation Underrated?

Obsidian's entire Catalog(minus New Vegas and Dungeon Siege III, New vegas did get a lot of attention, and Dungeon Siege III was absolute Horse ****)
Heroes of Might and Magic IV
Civilization III
Thief Deadly Shadows
BioShock 2(though it's nowhere near as good as the first part)

Just off the top of my head
