Black March punishes the same people SOPA does: the independent companies. You know, the companies that work hard to keep their products and services independent and rely on people to buy their products/services?

Black March would be marginally more effective if it stated that people should boycott the companies that support SOPA/PIPA...but since that also includes EA Games, I doubt it would have a lot of supporters here.

March Blackout: a plan to not buy, view, or download (legally or otherwise) any game, movie, or piece of music during the entire month of march.

Oh, just a bad month to do that.
I am happy to participate in April :).

If you want to protest SOPA, call your congress critter; yesterday showed that this was highly effective. A boycott will never reach the critical mass to have any effect.

I won't be buying anything in January or February so I can afford to not really care come March.

Uh yeah. Not going even near such a thing... To many ways such an overblown protest idea could actually backfire... I'll just get my copy of ME3 instead...

Considering that I haven't paid off my ME3 preorders yet, this isn't going to happen.

I'll buy into the anti-corporate agenda, when the anti-corporates use some soap.
Hell, they can even make it themselves, and not have to buy it from a multinational corporation.

I'm broke so it doesn't matter. Plus I get the feeling SOPA won't be as much of a problem by March. Congress is starting to get annoyed by citizens voicing their opinions.

NOTE: Anti-Corporate does not equal filthy dirty good for nothing hippies. Hippies are their own breed of... ugghh. Can't even describe those... ugghh.

Whaa? No way. Maybe in July when nothing is coming out, but March 2012 is too important for me, because of Mass Effect 3.

Uh oh, better go cancel my pre-order for the Collector's Edition.

I can probably refrain from purchasing any new games (I'll be playing ME3 anyway), but I'm definitely going to accept my copy of ME3 when it gets delivered.

I'll stay away from movies and almost all forms of media but I've already paid for ME3, and if diablo 3 comes out then (LOL) I'll be getting that, won't buy anything else though.

Besides it isn't Biowares fault or any of the other developers fault that the MPAA and RIAA bribed our elected officials to form absurd laws. The idea should be to try and hurt those two organizations, not Bioware.

Oh, just a bad month to do that.

The idea is that the 1st financial quarter ends in March I believe.  If you want to punish a company, you don't go around and sign petitions, the correct thing to do is anything that will cause its stock price to drop.  Finally the internet has the right idea.

Never heard of it. Just read about it. I support its cause. But I WILL GET MY GAME. I WILL PAY FOR IT. AND THEN LEAVE OUT ALL MEDIA FOR THE NEXT YEAR. AS MY LIFE WILL BE COMPLETE, UNTIL I ACTUALLY GET BORED OF THE GAME. WHICH WILL BE A WHILE. SO I WILL DO THIS EXCEPT ON MARCH 6 AT 12:00 AM MIDNIGHT AT A LOCAL GAMESTOP TO PICK UP MY GAME. THANK YOU AND HAVE A PLEASANT EVENING.

Clearly the reapers are in control of SOPA and Anti-SOPA.This is just some trick to catch humanity off guard , without seeing how to defeat the reapers in ME3.

SOPA's already good as dead, so why all of the BS protests that will probably do more damage to smaller businesses than anything else?

I see! The ME3 delay was clearly an attempt by EA to thwart the SOPA protest in March!

Well played, EA.

I will demonstrate my disgust with SOPA through my CE preorder overnighted to my home and then I'll proceed to fall off the consumer grid, except maybe some co-op.

Wow that plan is waaaay too bold.  Hardly anybody will commit to that.  Its hard enough to get most people to pop thier heads out of their comfort shell for a single day, but a whole month?  Protests of that magnitude won't happen until things get much much worse.

Do those idiotic bills even have a chance to pass? I mean, they're trying to take the internet down.

No its not.  Its merely being postponed for several reasons.

1) Gain public support through use of propaganda, its already begun on the major news networks.
2) Rename and repackage it, confuse people and try to slip out of the spotlight.
3) Let the fervor die off.  People have very short attention spans, many people will forget in no time flat as always.
4) Bring it back up for vote when everyone is distracted by something else, like a ninja.

Its a battle we will lose, its only a matter of time.

Besides, PIPA is still up for vote.

They didn't need to be bribed. They just said, "Derp! You mean I can stop pirates? Stopping pirates means peoples votes for me! Okays! I make law legals!"

Actually though there is a strong political opposition to SOPA. The majority is in support last I checked, but the other side is still pretty strong and fighting much harder. The opposition is bringing out facts, statistics, and experts to shows what will happen unless SOPA is drastically altered.

The support of SOPA just says, "Yeah but I don't think that's enough proof." That's basically their entire argument. An expert tells them the damage SOPA will do and they say there isn't enough proof.

There are intelligent people involved in the process of deciding the law that will fight it as well as citizens who have been made aware by all of their favorites sites. I don't see SOPA living long enough to still matter in March. We still haven't seen the full effect of Wednesday's protest on the issue. Not fully really. Word of mouth will start to spread and then that's when people will really start to annoy them.

Even if I have already paid for it, there's no way in hell that I'm not picking it up. Especially after the last trailer.
