I won't buy anything for next... year.
And won't need to watch anything for next year.
So, can that work?

SOPA's already good as dead, so why all of the BS protests that will probably do more damage to smaller businesses than anything else?
SOPA and PIPA aren't dead yet.
Hell, PIPA is still being discussed on US Congress.
Also, SOPA will be rewritten for next year.
Just like it was last year, only way called differently.

Do those idiotic bills even have a chance to pass? I mean, they're trying to take the internet down.
You might be suprised at the ammount of ****ed up **** the government gets away with. General public just don't give enough ****s to stop it.
Isn't it unconstitutional, wouldn't the supremem court get rid of it as soon as it came out. DIdn't the president also say that he would veto (not that it means much, if congress overrules him). Also a bunch of corporations did the blackout on Wednesday and from what I'm seeing it seems that the US govt. is basically run by corporations so why would they pass this lunacy if companies get pissed about it. Anyways I really hope it doesn't pass, I don't live in the US but if they pass this many of my favorite websites would get screwed.

Well, you'd think declaring corporaions people would be unconstitutional too but sure enough...
The president didn't say he would veto it, several of his cabinet members said they didn't support it. That means virtually nothing though, in fact Obama has already signed laws he said he would veto and then wrote earmarks "promise not to enforce i thoguh!" which is just a joke.
And yeah, corporations like Google and Facebook are fighting it, but other corporatiosn are the ones pushing it, like the ESA. Thats why its even in a bind in the government right now. If different industries were'nt at odds end over this issue then it probably would of been passed months ago.
Most people don't want it to pass, even if they aren't paying attention to it. But then most people disagree with a lot of things the government and corporate industries get away with and yet it just keeps on happening. And its going to keep happening until we reach a breaking point and the general public gets more active about their dissent.

I really hope this doesn't pass, its ridiculous how can they even try to change something that affects the whole world. Aren't other countries concerned about what this would do? You'd think this is the sort of thing that people wouldn't let the US government get away with.

The Supreme Court can't review a law unless a third party challenges it, which would generally take awhile.

So it's... what? An electronic goods version of Lent?
