I've played many games, enjoyed them, played many more than once, but over the years the ones I have come back to again and again are Baldurs Gate, KOTOR (and I am a Star Wars disliker), NWN, and now Dragon Age, it's got to be down to the story lead gaming that the writers here do so well.
we need an applause smiley
Every time I play I save and go through conversation routes I wouldn't normally take, just to see what comes of them, and I can be pleasantly surprised.
I'm playing through Origins AGAIN, in my lunch hour, on wet days off, and when I'm ill. I think DA's become my mind engaging comfort games, just as many good books have become over the last 50ish years
now the books to fill me in on background. Spouse does, but I do not read sci fi and fantasy (excepting the brilliant Terry Pratchett) and I've enjoyed these books.
The games are fun, absorbing, friendly, emotional and thought provoking, I love the freedom for mages, it suits my political leaning perfectly
and one other thing, thanks for not going the fantasy naming route and shoving in apostrophe's in to all the names, some writers sprinkle them in worse than any greengrocer
(judging from the forum, ME is just the same, I've not played it as I prefer not to tote enormous weaponry and like my enemies to suck on a fireball)
