I dont have Kinect so no.  Maybe sometime down the road if I get Kinect I'll do a playthrough using it but doubtful.

Who the **** even owns a kinect?

I own one. I like it. You don't.  I get that. Don't put words in my mouth.

This...

If you don't like the Kinect, then don't buy it. It's as simple as that. There is no need to bash people for having a different opinion.

No, Bioware, I won't. Endwar did a better job than yours in voice commands by at least ten fold, and all they needed was a microphone, no expensive M$ gimmicks.

My condolences.

Screw off, holier than thou ****.

Dude, every thread about Kinect on this forum is going to have someone (usually lots of someones) who feels compelled to express their negative opinion about Kinect.  My advice would be to ignore them because, after all, they are people who appear to have nothing better to do than talk trash (as opposed to constuctive criticsm) about a piece of hardware and people who own it.

Doesn't mean I have to take it without a word.

Just thought I'd drop this here. Endwar is almost instantly responsive. With a microphone.

I don't understand why the Kinect is necessary. There should be a way to link up your XBL headset to use the voice-recognition. If you ask me, this is another deliberate attempt by Microsoft to push their failed product forward.

What do you know, someone sees through the crap that bioware and EA tries to feed their audience.

Yep. Not to open doors or pick up items or for dialog. I'll be using it to access whatever powers are unmapped to buttons so I don't have to pause and use the wheel.

BINGO. That's what I plan on using the Kinect for too--it's essentially a new quickmap for squadmate powers. And judging by what I see in the videos, it looks pretty damn responsive, while keeping an air of reality (if you shouted to your soldier comrads to throw a grenade, would they throw it instantly at the moment you said it? The pause seems to be an agreeable split between realism and gameplay).

All that stuff about opening doors with it or choosing dialogue options with it just seem to be tacked on, particularly when just pushing the "A" button would be faster. The "QUICKSAVE" voice command is kinda neat though.

I don't have Kinect but I'll get the PC version and will probably mess around with speech macros to get some speech recognition. I did this for ME2 but I honestly did not complete a full playthrough using voice. This is also limited to commands, so no dialog.

I have Xbox 360, I have the old model though. The kidney doesn't interest me either. I rather just play silently, the way I want to. I'm too saving for Xbox 720. I'm sure I won't miss out on anything anyways, it not like your playing the game without a controller. Either way I can't wait for Mass Effect!!

I still don't understand what's so special about this voice recognition system that they can't just add it on PC with a mic. Why does it need Kinect?

Because they would have to program it twice. This is less of a "voice recognition will make the game better" thing and more of a "hey, I bet some kinect users will buy this game if we make it compatible with their expensive gimmick in order to justify the purchase of said expensive gimmick" thing.

I'm tempted. I mean, I'd use the Kinect for nothing more so it'll have to either be cheap, a gift or stolen.

Joking on the latter, guys. Come on.

kinect...... i suppose if you've got an xbox it'll add value to your game shouting at it, while the neighbours bang on the wall thinking your argueing with your missus.

A lot of people have problems with it accent wise, and half the time the thing just didn't recognize what I said. Plus having the software in the hardware rather than the disc means more storage for the actual game.

Well, I finally bought a slim after my old 360 got red ringed for the 6th time. So I was able to get a kinect for free, I haven't used it in the 5 months I've had it but I do intend to use it. I agree that this is just a marketing ploy by microsoft, but even so, It might actually add good something to the overall experience. Whether you like it or not there's no harm done, As I said I'll try it out in the demo but whether it's effective or not I will definitely use it to quick-save.

Cause using it requires you to talk to it.
