Do you think Stasis makes the game more fun for a Vanguard than say Reave or is it simply better? Does it make the game more awesome or just easier? I am anal with my Eezo and I have narrowed down my bonus power to one of the two. Either Area Reave or 1 point Stasis and 1 point in Pull and the rest in ShockWave for added utility. Image IPB

It's a handy 1 pt power for insta killing annoying drones and speeding up kills on heavy mechs and Scions.

And every once in a while I'll use it legitimately if say a pyro gets too close. But on a lot of missions I forget I even have it.

Stasis is going to make certain things much easier while Reave is going to make everything a little easier(outside of synthetics).

I prefer Pull Field+Stasis. I'm not into Cryo Ammo, and I rarely needed to "Reave" on my Vanguard. I used it for the hp buff at the start of fights and just Charged around after that. Stasis however lets you do things like Saving the Crates in my sig that you can't do with any other power.

Stasis is overpowered however it is fun too. Because to get it to the overpowered point(non fall of death exploit) you have to use it tactically.

Stasis is fun. If you feel its OP, don't use the damage bonus from ragdolling just use it to CC whoever.

So the consensus seems to be that Stasis is more fun than Reave. Reave is a better utilty skill?

Reave can be a key part of a build - SabreSanDiego's reave vanguard, ScroguBlitzen's Cryoguard and Reave Infiltrator, Capn233 has a Reave Soldier build.

Stasis for me is like a more situational weapon - when I have it I only use it on rocket drones, YMIR, that too-close pyro and that Scion on the Collector ship trap :)

Reave does have its uses. A Vanguard with Charge and Reave can quickly recover his shield as well as health. Reave also goes well with my upgrades since I have plus 6 Biotic Damage. Bio duration and Bio recharge (which might not work on Reave?) Plus, I wear Blood Dragon Armor so thats another plus 15% damage for Reave. It also works well on armor and barriers and has an area of effect when fully upgraded. On the other hand Stasis allows a Vanguard to Charge into the battlefield kill a foe then turn his attention on the sleeping giant. Need to marinate on this for awhile. Image IPB

Reave just works ok against armor. The damage Area Reave does to armor is within a few points of Rank 1 Incinerate. But it is nice to strip armor from a group of husks or light mechs.

Fun is going to be totally subjective. Some like one thing, others like a different one. I don't see how Stasis is fun at all. Useful... but what does it do? Puts a translucent white ball around an enemy that can't move. And you can't shoot. But then they fall down and you get a big damage bonus. You can make a group of enemies dance with Reave. But I haven't played with it on Vanguard. With the shield refill of Charge it seems like that is the way to go more often.

You can save all the crates in Smuggling Depot using the Cain... without any bonus powers. :)

Reave is a nice power, but as far as potency goes, I think Stasis is probably the strongest power in the game, since it ignores all defenses and generally wrecks havoc with the game itself.. What that means exactly to you in this single player game, is totally up to you.

Somehow I have not even see The Smuggling Depot but maybe I will switch out during that mission. In regards to fun I guess I meant which skill people thought was the most dynamic. I guess Stasis on its own is a pretty lame skill but if you could somehow work it into your take charge attack pattern. Stasis the biggest gun run in and gun down all the others then turn your attention to the big guy and shoot him down probably while he is still lying on the floor ehhh I need to experiment some more.
