I'm pretty much completely burned out on both games, especially ME2 which I think I've played 9 or 10 times, I can't even remember. But I got all my savegames in order for ME3 months ago, so it's all good. Why anyone would delete them is beyond me - the whole reason I played both games so obsessively was because I felt like I was working towards a set of savegames that needed to be a certain way.
Anyone else having problems getting through their ME2 playthroughs to prep for ME3?

No, because I don't play the games enough to get burnt-out on them so badly.

I started a ME2 playthrough in June (remade my main character with a few different choices) that I still haven't finished. I'm almost done but after having finished ME2 at least 12 times, it is hard to find the motivation to play sometimes. The recent ME3 hype has made me sit down and play again though. I'll probably finish it this weekend. I only have Tali's loyalty mission, arrival, reaper IFF mission, Legion's loyalty mission, and the suicide mission to do so that's about 3 hours of game time.
This character will be the first one I import into ME3, followed by 3 other characters if decisions end up giving different scenarios.

Honestly I played ME2 10 times and it still is the best game ever for me and i have 60+ games! I skipped through the dialogue now but some parts i still enjoy listening to and when that suicide mission comes around It reminds me of how epic the game really is.

I probbaly have that in me1 and 2 combined. It only takes about 30 hours to complete a game in me2, about 40 with all dlc. It's like when people have 16 days played in cod. Instead of brainless shooting you're actually playing a good game.Cainne Chapel wrote...

I just don't want to touch any of my characters because I want to respect what happened. Once I make a new Maleshep, he becomes "THE" Male Shepard for me. And if I make another one, he'll always seem lessor compared to the "better" version I already made. Or if I do make a better one, then he's the new "THE" Male Shepard. Same with my Femshep.
I already have two versions of maleshep I'm debating on importing. One had a romance with Tali, then broke up with her to be with Liara again. And the other was faithful to Liara the entire time.
Which one is going to be the first import? I honestly don't know.

But when it comes to my Femshep, I'd rather replay her if I was going to improve her. And I won't know what's what till ME3.

Yeah - I've added a few more ME1 saves - but doing ME2 is hard.
I always enjoyed ME1 more than ME2 anyway.
That said - I already did my 'canon' carry over save after 'The Arrival' so every other carry over save is gravy.
Besides which masseffectsaves.com is covering my needs.

Considering I'm doing it because I lost all my saves and have to, yes. I had all three of my main runs done perfectly and lost all of them. That's a 90hr commitment I have to make to get all of them done, I've done two so far, I'm putting the last one off till march. Hoping the hype of ME3 will substitute the lack of actual enjoyment.

I am still struggling setting up my canon playthrough, but they're only a few things like class choosing between Soldier or Infiltrator, killing the Rachni or not.

absolutely... haven't touched either game in months. I can't even do ME1 anymore... it's like, you get a quest and remember, "oh god... helena blake... I have to go to three different barren wastelands and drive miles to each base... yeeeeah, no... *skip* " ... but then you end up with a hollow playthrough.
So I just gibbed as much as I can from ME1 to ME2 and really the only thing I can keep playing in ME2 is the SM just b/c I can do it differently each time.

Yeah, I'm slogging through ME1 right now and keep having to take breaks in the midst of the action. Hell, I was burnt out on ME1 before ME2 came out.

This is easy. I already have a save file with all the squadmates living so doing a few with multiple deaths of different squadmates makes the playtime go down.

I'm not having huge problems getting through my new playthrough, but there are some areas I'm sort of dreading in both games (like the Geth Incursions quest in ME1 and the Collector ship quest in ME2).

I forced myself to stop playing ME1 or 2 last January. Now, a year later I am all hyped up and ready to go for the pre-ME3 play-throughs.
It's all matter of preparation

The beginning of ME1 is slow to me, but once I get past that the game will never get old. I could play through Virmire, Ilos and the Battle of the Citadel forever, those are probably my three favorite missions out of both games.
ME2 I can't really get through anymore, the recruitment missions are just too numerous and get old fast.
