Wonder what his reasoning is, either way, good luck, Jesse.

Wow two posts in and the amusing crazy conspiracys have already started :P

Well whatever the reason is he is certainly going to be missed by Bioware and the fans.  All the best Jesse, good luck on your next endeavour!  B)

The second one was only just born as well, and his schedule has to have been pretty rough recently.

Brent Knowles left, producer of Dragon Age: Origins and his hatred of Dragon Age II and EA's direction of BioWare is very well known. My prediction is the same is about to occur with Jesse Houston.

I am curious though. Why not just wait until ME3 has been released before leaving? I mean, it is only two months. Good luck to him in any case.

No, his hatred is not well known. Not unless he's written something very different from his blog about leaving.

Guy even liked Redemption.

Knowles left quite early on. I think it was before proper production of DA2 began. Jess is leaving less than two months before ME3 releases. Suffice to say, the latter had more involvement in ME3 than the former had in DA2.
Also, I don't see where you're getting the 'hatred' from. He found himself with a difference of opinion as to how things should continue and thus left.

Well, the game is as good as finished.

Not sure why he didn't stay until it went gold, but good luck to him in the future.

That is certainly possible that Jesse left because of the continuously shifting culture within EA Bioware like Brent did, but it's also possible he just couldn't maintain his job with his newborns (they've been in crunch for awhile, working endlessly), and it's also possible he just wanted to move on once the franchise was over and pursue new challenges. Or it could be all three.

The Ronin comment could be a clue to his next job... Either to a game title or possibly just being a contractor.

Read between the lines. He may not dislike Mass Effect kind of games, but there's an obvious wording to his dislike of Dragon Age II that is polite while at the same time, very aggressive in nature towards the direction the game went.

Another producer, Brent was the lead producer of Dragon Age: Origins (why tweak a game so drastically and force your producer in directions he does not want to go in [who helped create an extremely successful game that won game of the year?]), leaves before the true finishing touches of a game they're working on is about be released. Yet you tell me that he won't be angry at BioWare's direction since the acquisition from EA?

I'm the crazy one... sure. Go play MW3 and say it's a great game with a lot of depth. It has about the same merit that you're telling me my statement has.
