Here's a conspiracy for you.

He announced he was leaving right after he mentioned finishing his definitive playthrough for his FemShep. The implication here is obvious: he was only working at BioWare so he could play Mass Effect before everyone else. Now that he is done, he's moving to Tahiti.

This.  I did stay up late all week to crunch one final play through in before i had to give my dev hardware back!

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes!  I will really miss this fan base!

Good luck, hope you find somewhere else that will be as good as your time in BW.

I'm definitely going to miss Jesse. I'll pass on a story I'm sure he won't mind me sharing.

We hadn't worked together before until we went to Gamescom together to show off ME2. He was working in the press room and I was running errands for him until the public show opened. I'd fetch him coffee, water and make introductions when new people arrived for Jesse's demo. About 1/2 way through the day, he took me aside and said "Chris, so you know my name is Houston (pronounced How-stun), not Houston (pronouced Hew-stun) like the city in Texas." I apologized, but he downplayed it, forgave me and said it happens all the time. For the rest of the day, whenever he couldn't hear me,I introduced him as different Texas cities "This is Jesse Dallas, Jesse San Antonio, Jesse Austin, etc".

It is a shame to lose Jesse, but people move on. I am jealous that he gets to be somewhere warmer. Mass Effect is a better series for having him be a part of it. :)

I don't blame him. Houston sucks.

Before you leave,

Please grab that Grunt head out of Casey's office. He's weak now. You can do it.

May you go into the future with the same success you have in the present, Mr. San Antonio.

I tend to agree with ya. I've been to Houston so many times that I think its a Disgrace to the image of Texas and US. It certainly doesn't help that it has no zoning laws. But it does have some pretty good Museums. But, on the side note Houston (Howston) whatever you want to call it is a nice name.

Jesse, I'm sure if you wear a large enough coat you can smuggle out at least some of your hardware.

For the record, Jesse Waco (see Chris Priestly's post) isn't the only producer to leave a game project near it's end. IGN reported that a Diablo III producer has left. Mass Effect 3 is probably much closer to release; what with the anouncement that Blizzard is changing partis of Diablo III.

IGN story is here.

I'm going to miss Jesse Daingerfield (look it up, it's a city in Texas), partly because of Jesse Flower Mound's wicked awesome sideburns, but also because Jesse Gun Barrel City was one of the few people I talked with about riding motorbikes.

For assistance with spam or any other forum matter, please remember that you can (and should) send a PM to a Moderator with a detailed description of the problem and a link to the problem post, thread or forum. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure there is nothing nefarious going on. Jesse got some money saved up, it got down to -25 C again, and he finally just said, I'm going somewhere a lot warmer. The allure of frozen lakes, walleye, beavers and moose just weren't enough to keep him around.

You will be missed:)

Yeah, I heard about this last night, I wanted to say something when I first heard the news but I was using my IPod when I first got the news and I was nowhere near my PC.

In any case, I will miss Jesse Houston.

I know alot of my more negative posts don't reflect this view but I am very thankful for all the hard work he has put into the ME Trilogy, he has done an amazing job as producer and I can't imagine this series continuing without him. Hopefully he will come back to Bioware when his sabbatical is over.
