Only time I heard it is when Chris posted three times that some of the DLC armors and Weapons would be available, in his usual mischevious and vague way. Even though we saw all of the Armor except Blood Dragon, we know the codes are in the game.
So, I don't know what to believe, but with all the **** I have, I know I'm getting it.

I tweeted Manveer Heir about Sniper Rifle effectiveness on Insanity and he provided some typically enigmatic replies.
Me: "Will a single shot from a slow firing sniper rifle (Mantis, etc.) down a low level enemy (trooper, etc.) on Insanity?"
Manveer: "Doubtful"
Me: "How bout if its a headshot?"
Manveer: "Maybe."
My take on this is....
The reply that a headshot "Maybe" able to down a standard trooper in one shot would seem to mean...
A headshot alone probably ain't gonna cut it on insanity; but if you've got a few extra buffs on top you should be able to pull it off.
Such As...
1: You're rolling as a class with weapon damage bonus passives for Sniper Rifles (Soldier, Infiltrator).
2: And/or you've got some good active damage buffs (Adrenaline Rush, Ammo Powers)
3: and/or the right weapon mods (high caliber barrel).
Furthermore the reply that a single shot other than a headshot is "Doubtful" to kill a trooper on insanity would seem to indicate that its not impossible to one shot a trooper with a body shot if the stars align just right.
Say if you're rolling as a Soldier with maxed out weapon damage passives, you've got the extra damage bonus from Adrenaline Rush going, you've got a high level ammo power active and you're packing a Widow with a high caliber barrel mod....then a bodyshot might do it.
Relax, enemies in insanity are the same as the ones in gold multiplayer. A properly built infiltrator can probably one-body-shot just about anything.

No way the N7 Eagle does less damage than the Predator as that google doc is suggesting. There are also numerous errors.
The N7 Eagle does suck for some reason. Can't comment on the other errors since I have my own spreadsheet.

As you can see its an energy weapon and it appears to be an assault rifle.
There's another pic of the new squadmate using it which makes it appear that you can charge up the shot since the beam appears much brighter in the second shot.
Here's a link to the pic; but don't click it unless you want to see the new squadmate....

edit* or I suppose it could be used as a second shotgun. It could nicely complement the Crusader which shoots one slug instead of several pelets. But I would have trouble justifying the weight and I don't want to give up my true love the phalanx.

Stand right next next to a Guardian on Gold, just out of melee range, and see what happens to your shields when you get shot. If I recall correctly, Guardians use the Talon.
Also, sorry if this has already been answered, but what does the Disciple do that differs from other weapons?

nothing as far as we know. It is the lightest shotgun, and actually has good damage and a great rate of fir for a shottie, but its description makes me think it probably has poor accurracy except at point blank range. This could be fixed a bit by the smart choke if you want it to be more reliable at mid-range though I am assuming.

If you're using a shotgun I don't think equipping the Talon is really worth the weight. Unless perhaps you're using a long range shotgun like the Geth Pulse Shotty or Graal and want to pack a more close range weapon too.
By the way does anyone know how the weight of the Talon compares to the most lightweight shotties like the Katana or Disciple? IE if I want the lightest close range weapon possible, what should I roll with?

I think out of the assault rifles the falcon and chakram launcher interest me the most for my soldier.
With the explosive rounds I'm guessing they'll be powerful crowd control weapons; but they're heavy and I'd imagine they'll be pretty ammo hungry. I'd imagine that you'll probably want to pack a general purpose SMG (Hornet) or Pistol (Predator, Phalanx, Carnifex) as a backup in case you run out of ammo.
For my Soldier...
In long range engagments I'm thinking a Widow (slow firing heavy hitting Sniper Rifle), Phaeston (Full auto AR for medium and close range) and a scoped Carnifex (accurate scoped semi auto).
And in close quarters engagements I'm thinking a Valkyrie (Accurate AR for more distant targets) a Tempest (Full Auto SMG for spray and pray) and a Claymore (heavy hitting shotty)

Talon and Katana weigh the same. Talon however deals more damage and has a slightly higher ROF.
Disciple is weaker than both of the weapons and has a reload time comparable to the Claymore, but weighs as much as the Avenger. If you're concerned about cooldowns, choose the Disciple.

I was actually thinking to use it with the crusader, which shoots a slug rather than pellets. It has the same penetration value as the widow so it could be used to take out armored targets and shoot through cover, and the talon could be used to take out trash mobs.

The indra also has a penetration bonus that the arc pistol doesn't.
But yes, they both fire a path of ionized air

I think that for the soldier, the semi auto Black Widow will have better synergy with adrenaline rush. The Widow and Javelin will work better for the infiltrator with tactical cloak.

In Singleplayer you want to have spare ammo. The sniper is the best weapon in the game by far, as long as you got ammo for it. That have been the case in at least ME2 style of combat, in which the ME3 is very similar.
you dont need anything but ammo and damage upgrade anyway. The aim upgrades are just for newbies anyway, the armor piercing will have to prove itself extremely strong, but you are gonna use armor piercing ammo as advanced power anyway.
