Just wish the centurions used the Argus over the Mattock.

I was actually thinking to use it with the crusader, which shoots a slug rather than pellets. It has the same penetration value as the widow so it could be used to take out armored targets and shoot through cover, and the talon could be used to take out trash mobs.
The Crusader will go through those damned Guardian's shields like a Widow will? Sweet, looks like I know which shotgun I'm rolling with.

Yes indeed. The crusader has a 50 penetration value, same as the widow. Fully upgraded it does 442.1 damage, with a 4 round clip and fires at 80 rounds per minute. you can double that damage in close range bonus for shotguns, so basically 884 damage. If used properly it could out DPS the widow. I am looking forward to it imensely.

Yes! The close range bonus still exists!

I updated the spreadsheet with the pictures from this topic.
If there are any errors, feel free to point them out to me. I took the info from this topic, but there's a lot to cover and I'm sure there's typos here and there or my eyes misread a line here or there.

So, if I am not mistaken, Heavy Weapons will be weightless?

I call BS on that. A post by a forumite doesn't prove much of anything.
1: You've got a heavy weapon strapped to your back in the Multiplayer demo.
2: We've seen footage of Shepard using various heavy weapons (Firestorm and Avalanche off the top of my head).
3: They designed quite a few new heavy weapons, why would they throw all that effort away?

Avalanche is not in the game. I believe heavy weapons are now picked up during a mission and discarded afterwards.

Me: "Did you have access to the Collector Rifle from ME2?"
Xoisite: "Yes I did. And you must buy all ME2 special guns, and it seems that you have to buy all of the really powerful guns.
Heavy weapons are gone."
He provides details on the use of heavy weapons in ME3 in a later post:
Xoisite : "Yeah you can pick them [heavy weapons] up from the ground for a one time use about 4 times in the entire game. For example, you get to fire one shot from a cain in the entire game."

1. Heavy weapons always suffered from the "Good China" syndrome. Ammo was rare, and it was uncertain when you'd get it, so you were never sure how much you could use it.
2. With the new encumbrance system, no one would ever use heavy weapons. Again, the uncertain ammo situation, combined with a massive cooldown penalty would make bringing a heavy weapon an act of sublime silliness. "But I like being silly.... what if I want to make a silly HW build? Who's Bioware to tell me otherwise?" That's cool, and I hear you, but most people are going to miss out completly.
3. Now, if you find a heavy weapon, you know that now is proably a good time to use it. You can feel free to make your best Stallone face, and get to going. Most people are going end up using HW a lot more than if it was up to players to bring it or not.
4. It looked bad. I like the armor in ME quite a bit, and would like to look at it without a small garbage can in the way. No game has ever made carrying a bunch of big weapons look as plausible as ME, but the HW's always looked awkward.
Heavy weapons are situational weapons that you use when you need them, not a trump card you keep up your sleeve, which is as it should be.

So all that talk about being able to refill heavy weapon ammo at the end of a mission was a farce?

That marketing you speak of was probably a developer tweet, and it was likely true at the time, but they decided not to go with it in the end, for all the reasons I just went over, the encumbrance system being #1.
