What are currently your top five to ten albums? (if you can think of ten? If not five or anything between that and 10 is fine) And possibly why you selected them? If you're not feeling lazy. Image IPB

Here's mine ofcourse (note this is pretty much what I currently listen to most):

1. Burial - Untrue

Burial is one if not the most atmospheric musicians I've ever heard, Untrue does everything his debut album (the self entitled Burial) did right but add's even more to it! Great atmosphere, unique sounds, it's a very lonely and depressing sound yet has a certain purity and innocence to it (probably helps that Burial avoids the media and just focuses on making music and doesn't bother doing interviews, he even went anonymous for some time and only five people knew he actually made music. Even though people now know his identity only one photo of him has been revealed) Burial is something I'll never get bored of! Although I really hope he release's a new album soon, it's been too long...

2. Darkstar - North

Darkstar are a duo from the same label as Burial (Hyperdub) I love most people on this label as it's full of unique sounding artists, but I was suprised at how good North is! I loved Darkstar before this debut album of their's but this is a new Darkstar, they've got a more dark industrial sound, not like their old stuff but suprisingly even better. A very claustrophobic album. No longer are they veiwed as just a Dubstep act, they've come along way and created a new sound that's somewhat reminicent to Radiohead - Kid A is some ways, but different in many other ways, and this is no bad thing.

3. Radiohead - Amnesiac

I know what you're thinking ''why not OK computer, The Bends or Kid A?'' like most people pick, well I like the perfect mix that I find Amnesiac has more. I think Amnesiac succeded in creating a good balance of Thom Yorke's haunting vocals, synth, Jazz and rock. The tracks aren't as memorable as most on OK Computer but as a whole package Amnesiac is the Radiohead album I find myself loving the most.

4. Radiohead - OK Computer/The bends

I'm sure I dont really need to list why these albums are so good, they're pretty much perfect rock albums with some of the most memorable songs I've ever heard. I've listed them both at number four as I cant choose between them.

5. The Joy Formidable - The Big roar

The debut album of Welsh Indie rock band The Joy Formidable is a real gem, I'm finding myself putting it on repeat constantly. Some of the tracks are chilly yet somehow upliffting (strange I know) I cant wait to hear what they've got instore next.

6. The Arctic Monkeys - Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not

Arctic monkeys debut was still their best in many fans eye's, it was a great mix of the classic indie rock we know with a slight punk feeling towards it. Most tracks are fast with a catchy chorus ready to give the listener a good adrenaline rush.

7. The Antlers - Hospice

Be warned, dont listen to this album if you dont want to feel depressed. The whole album is about the concern of losing a loved one to a terminal illness. This is a fantastic emotional album, Kettering is the track that really stands out.

8. The Libertines - Up the Bracket/The Libertines

Another two I cant seem to choose between, both complement each other so well. These guys are the stand out rock group of the 00's. Not many people seem to give Pete Doherty a chance due to his personal life but look past that and you'll find a fantastic poetic artist. the other bands from there break up are both worth a look at too (Babyshambles and Dirty pretty things)

9. The Naked and Famous - Passive me, aggressive you: Delux edition.

These guy's are getting known very fast, Passive me, Aggressive you is a very colourful and upliffting album, and that's what I love! I listen to alot of artists who are.... well depressing to say the least..It's refeshing to have somone who are so colourful but not cheesy. The delux edition is here especially as it includes their awsome EP's No Light and This Machine.

10.  Burial - Burial

Well seeing as the follow up made number one this needed to be on the list, again very atmospheric and pure.

Honerable mentions: Thom Yorke - The Eraser.  Radiohead - In Rainbows, Hail to the thief and Kid - A. Ikonika - Contact, love, want, have. Akala - It's not a rumour. Portishead - Dummy. Crystal castles - Crystal castles. Kode-9 and the Spaceape - Black sun. Four tet - There is love in you. Babyshambles - down in Albion and Shotters nation. Dirty pretty things - Waterloo to anywhere. The Liquid stranger - The intergalactic slapstick. Mount Kimbie - Crooks and lovers. Muse - Absolution. The Clash - London calling. Foster the people - Torches. Massive attack - Mezzanine.

There's alot more but that's all that's on my mind at the moment and well I dont want to over do it...Like I probably have....Yeah, your list's dont need to be as exstensive. Image IPBImage IPB

I don't know I find it impossible to pick favorites and people would say I have terrible taste in music anyway I just can't pick.

...And Justice for All, by Metallica.
An underrated album that matches the intensity and complexity of Master of Puppets. Songs as emotionally potent as One, or as blisteringly unrelenting as Dyers Eve & Shortest Straw make this one of the greats.

Abigail, by King Diamond.
Out of all his albums, this one is constantly revered as the best of his work. And it is. It's a grim, macabre story told from beginning to end. The best would be Black Horsemen, July 7th, 1777, and Abigail. The falsetto will be off-putting to a lot of people. For those who can enjoy it, it's the best he's ever done to this point.

Mutter, by Rammstein.
Heart Pounding german industrial metal at its best. Links 2 3 4, Ich Will, Feuer Frei... they may not be lyrical masterpieces, but you can't listen to it without either banging your head or slamming your first in the air.

Everyone has a different taste in music, but it's good for people to share their taste's so people can hear music they might not have heard of before. So what if someone say's it's terrible, becuase there's probably more people who like the same stuff.

Yeah I did have a hard time choosing myself so I just went with what I'm currently listening to the most.

Truth. I would be hard pressed to pick ten songs, let alone ten albums. And no one wants to listen to whatever I enjoy anyway. :P

Not in any order, and pretty much just my random collection of the day.

Stereolab - "Margerine Eclipse"

Wasn't really impressed by this one at first, but it somehow caught my attention and ended up my most played album.  Still can't remember the individual songs though.  Odd, that.

Image IPB

--

Tubeway Army - "Tubeway Army"

Gary Numan's first outing and probably his strongest collection of songs.

Image IPB

--

Ultravox - "Ultravox!"

Before Midge Ure and his Slik songwriting (sorry, couldn't resist such a terrible pun) there was John Foxx taking the band in an entirely different direction, summed up by viola player Billy Curry's comment that "we were always just a bunch of ****ing weirdos, really."

Image IPB

--

Toyah - "The Changeling"

Birmingham's shortest woman squeaks about spaceships and apocalyptic futures or something like that.

Image IPB

--

Kasabian - "Kasabian"

My other half played this incessantly until it finally got my attention.

Image IPB

--

Hawkwind - "The Xenon Codex"

This was their new release when I first saw them play live, and it's remained my favourite album of theirs.  Also has the silliest ending to any album ever.

Image IPB

--

The Stranglers - "The Raven"

There's always a lack of subtlety about The Stranglers, though the songwriting was often surprisingly intricate.  This album possibly inspired the epithet "Punk Floyd".

Image IPB

--

Ladytron - "Gravity The Seducer"

Their latest album and probably the best to date.

Image IPB

--

Lush - "Gala"

I got into these via the Cocteau Twins.  Aside from jangly guitars, they don't sound especially alike; I'm inclined to think that Lush have stood the test of time rather better, though quite surprisingly.

Image IPB

--

Black Sabbath - "Paranoid"

Every record collection should have some plodding heavy rock.  So here it is.

OK OK you twisted my arm because someone posted my current best right now.
I'm too lazy to post the pictures tho
Currently my favorite albums and my reasons why.

1. Blink 182: Neighborhoods. I don't care what anyone says. Blink 182 is awesome. They always have been and they'd have to really try very hard not to be. Its easy to think Oh he's picking their new one because its new but its not like that. 8 years before a new album comes out and they come up with better stuff then they used to IMO. This is a more mature Blink. One that doesn't rely on thier rowdy sex jokes or singing about girlfriends. Its clear that they took what they learned from their time apart to perfect their craft. While I do enjoy +44 and Angels and Airwaves this is shows that these guys can take it and use it to make better music. Besides Travis = best drummer in the biz.

2. Theory Of A Deadman: The Truth Is. I've enjoyed Theory since the first time I heard Santa Monica but this is different. I waited quite a while to give this CD a try because I just figured it would be the same old same old. While by the large part it kind of is its not entirely a bad thing. While Lowlife and The B*** came back are fun little entries its songs like Hurricane and We Were Men that truly surprised me.

3. Muse: Black Holes & Revelations. Muse is a band I have put on my list of bands I HAVE to see live before I die. This album is mostly why. I don't even feel I need to explain why. Every song on this album feels like a work of love and true music talent. From the slow but epic opening of Take A Bow to the badassness that is Knights of Cydonia there isn't a millisecond on this CD that isn't true art.

4.  Offspring:  Greatest Hits.   Lets just put all the best songs together that sounds great.  Except I don't know a Offspring song I don't at least like.

5.  Matchbook Romance:  Voices.   Here's a band that broke up at the worst time.  Monsters,  Say It Like You mean it,  Fiction.   Just those 3 songs alone make it worth it but the rest are still great.

6.  The Used:  Lies For The Liars.   I been a die hard fan of these Orem, Utahns since I first heard Box of Sharp Objects (back when MTV played music!!!!!)  Yeah I know what town their from because I'm from that town.  I'm still stuck in this boringville while they've become huge.  I actually met Burt once when he was still living down here before they made it.  I could use half my list here to put their albums on here but I'll use the one I think cemented them as one of the best bands out there.

7  Skillet:  Comatose.  While Collide and Awake are good on their own right this one has all their best songs by far.  Rebirthing,  Comatose,  Better Than Drugs!!!  OMG you hear this and its hard to believe their a christian band.

8  She Wants Revenge:  Their first album is where its at.  This is where I realized that alternative rock isn't the only good music.  If SWR hadn't come out with this I would never have given groups like Kings of Leon or The Black Keys a chance.  The floodgates poured in.  While most of my list is still alternative rock I'm still open to try different styles.

9.  Eminem:  Recovory.  Eminem did to rap for me what She Wants Revenge did to more unique music (I don't know what to label it)  Recovory is the ultimate Eminem album as far as I'm conserned (though I was almost tempted to put Bad Meets Evil on here)  while I'd be the last to defend Relapse I did still enjoy it.  Recovory proves that Eminem isn't the same guy he was when he started.  Much harder and more intense than anything he's ever done.  Just listen to No Love and if that doesn't convince you of his skill on the mic nothing will.

10.  Alice In Chains:  Greatest Hits.  These songs especially are the definition of great 90s music.  I almost put Rage Against The Machine here but while I never listened to more than the singles these songs are timeless.  Heaven Beside You is playing as I write this and its still as great as the first time I heard it.

Once again I'll have to opt for what Seagloom said.

Though my list would probably end up with a bit more Guns N' Roses than is necessary, as well as some Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Pearl Jam and I'd find a way of putting Steel Panther on it. It would all be very deep and like opinionated and stuff.....yes I once owned a leather jacket, why are you thinking that?
