I am surprised that nobody has mentioned the stupidness of bare knuckle sparring. They would at least be wearing wraps, or more likely sparring gloves. Both of them seem to be reasonably seasoned boxers (not surprising given their military history) so sparring without protection for either of them is out of place.

It's not like they are hitting with full force.

Your double-standards, BSN, pisses me off.

Now you like Vega?

Jesus...

Double standard ? What does that mean ? Some simply jumped to the conclusion they wouldn't like him, without knowing anything, now a few months after, with trailers, etc, they can like him. That's human, in real life, that's the same, you think you won't like someone and actually, he becomes one of your best friends.

Why couldn't they change their mind ?

I find that strange.  " hey remember bro', you hated him before, you must hate him now, otherwise you are dumb or hypocrite or whatever. " That sounds childish at best.

People didn't express simple concern or potential dislike. They condemned him. Frequently.

I hope that BSN wasn't directed at me bboynexus. I never posted any hate on Vega bud.

It was a general comment. :)

So then, why do you complain if they do not like vega, but just the actor ? They changed their mind about Vega, yes or no ?

Its not that. It just bugs me because I just dislike two-faced, and dishonest people. They judge a character/person so harshly at the begining, and when they see him involved in one good thing they're all up, and suddenly acting like he's the best thing ever.

Just annoys me, but whatever. Can't change people.

It just goes to show Bioware should take all the childish hyperbole and ignorance on this forum with a grain of salt. Those same people will be do this again and again with different things, just as they have before with various other things.

Don't worry, we're not all like that.

I disliked him then and I dislike him now ;D

Mwuhahahahahahaha ;)

I bareknuckle all the time, you don't necessarily go full contact while doing it.  Stupid or not, people do it.  Control is an important part of hand to hand combat too.

As long as you're consistent. Just means you aren't fake, and I respect that.

Pffft holy crap the hostility on these forums. So what if people change their minds? So what if they like Freddy? U mad?

I did not have much of an opinion of Vega before since we only had some image(s) of him. NOW that I know who's voicing him and I've no doubt he'll do a good job I'm very excited. And the featurette showed what kind of character he will be and I liked what I see. The end.

Anybody noticed how articulate & eloquent Vega's VA is? Even if his lines are scripted in this featurette, it still shows that he's a very good speaker.

Eeer, as long as you're consistent ? So I hated him before, I must hate him now ?
I condemned multiplayer before I saw the trailer, saw more about it,  I must be now against multiplayer.

I condemned Ashley as a racist person, without even trying to talk with her, finally, I changed my mind after some cool stuff with her. Do you think, consistent or inconsistent is relevant ?

That seems still childish and dumb.

If you're wrong, you have to admit you were wrong and you can change your mind. There is nothing silly about it.

WTF? Being consistent doesn't mean you're not fake.

It just means you stand by initial judgements (for many, this means stubbornly defending your views, even when they're a**-backwards). Sheesh.

Cinematic (or cutscene) animations are really weird, especially after Mass Effect 1 and 2. ME 1 and 2 felt like professional many way. Showing new Normandy in ME 2 or blew up Sovereign in end of ME 1. Something like that. But Mass Effect 3 can't do that to me so far. Yes, we didn't see cutscenes as ME 1 and ME 2 has but like kid scene (I'm not saying I'm unemotional but that's the case) in Earth and this really concern me. I don't know, it's just weird after ME1 and ME2. Anyone feel that way?

Not at all.

The beautiful thing about the world is there's a diverse range of opinions and viewpoints.
This forum would be near defunct if everyone agreed on everything all the time, the thing that keeps these forums interesting is the healthy debate and there's abosultely no harm in some one not liking something.

For example I dislike James Vega, however I love Garrus Vakarian and persoanlly think he's one of the greatest video game characters yet.

So quit bashing people for haveing different stand points, beacuse if they didn't you would have little to talk about.

Yours ever

Alex

I don't like his Jersey Shore appereance, but he may be an interesting guy. I'm looking forward to this character, since he can end up either as a boring soldier-filler, or a nice buddy to back me and Garrus up.

Just watched the interview - I like that Freddie Prinze Jr. is the VA. He seems to have done a good job in the bits where I heard Vega's dialogue, and he actually played the ME games so I have to give him points for being a fellow gaming geek.

Wow at Shep's facial animations during the bro-fight. Hopefully BioWare just forgot to turn the animations on during that cutscene when this was made ..

Did I play ME2 when Zaeed was announced?  Have I never seen any of the other billion TPS out there with roidragebros that are the stars of every single cliched action game out there?  The squad didn't need another human due to how small it is, and it especially didn't need Ashley mk 2.

Right, Vega is definitely going to be a poor character because... uh... Ashley and Zaeed and action games!

What made Mass Effect so great is the diversity.  I can't help it if you cannot grasp simple concepts.  The game did not need Vega at all, and if it's for his abilities, a Krogan would have been much more interesting.

? Mhh., it seems you didn't understand. Your opinion is fine, his logic is wrong. You can stand on your initial judgment, and that's fine, but if other change their mind, that doesn't mean they are fake, or they are inconsistent, because that's not the point. That mean they are adults enough to recognize they were wrong if they think so, their view that can evolve you know, and finally they can love something. etc etc.

I didn't like Jacob, finally, I like him enough. It has nothing to do with being inconsistent with myself.

I also liked to see that many gamers changed their mind about multiplayer. Did I say, whaaa, you are inconsistent ? No, I was glad to see, they used their brain to at least think about it and see that it could be a good thing finally. ( those who think it's still wrong, that's their opinion and that's fine )

That mean, that finally, they can use their brain. We are adults.

I was thinking the same thing...

Prinze sounds like a nice fit though, voice-wise. It's not one of those "no way that voice came from that body" moments.

The squad has a smaller total percentage of humans than either of the past games did. It's not getting any less diverse.

Freddy Prinze jr. is Donny Crane in Boston Legal who is the son of Denny Crane who is William Shatner who is Kirk.

So Vega is the son of Kirk!

Mr Sarah Michelle Gellar as Vega's VA.

Ok....so the guy who climbs up buildings to beat his chest gets a more recognized voice. But he's still a guy who climbs up buildings to beat his chest i.e. a beefcake moron.

Kaiden (Human), Ashley (Human), Shepard (Human), Liara (Humanoid), Tali, Wrex and Garrus were in the first game. 3/7 are human.

Kaiden (Human), Ashley (Human), Vega (Human), Shepard (Human), Liara (Humanoid), Tali, Garrus, DLC character (Unknown--probably human).  4/8 are human.  Yep, definitely getting smaller.
