The game did not need Vega at all, and if it's for his abilities, a Krogan would have been much more interesting.

The game doesn't "need" a krogan either.  There is no matter of necessity here.  This is ultimately a matter of personal taste.

That argument I've seen buzzing around about how having a krogan is 'tradition' makes me laugh, on top of that. Something happening twice isn't tradition. It's just something happening twice. Now talk to me after it's happened thrice or, really, four times. That becomes tradition. This was just happenstance.

Right, which means it's better to have less diverity and to be like every other game in the genre that ME is trying to cater to right?  I wouldn't have cared as much if Ashley wasn't already on the squad, but TWO Ashleys?  Vega was probably something an EA rep pushed to have..he's that boring.

'Hay guyz, not enough Fenix representin happenin here!'

I don't care if some consider it "tradition" or not, that isn't why I would prefer a Krogan over Vega at all.  Anything would be better...even an entirely new race if they needed some hulking moron type; but because of how the races were already developed over the course of the first two games in the series, Krogan were the only thing that came to mind.  It's not likely that they would randomly invent yet another "big guy" species to fit that role.

Why does it matter the number of humans on the squad as long as they're well written?

Probably the element of anyone liking human squadmates, for starters. I'm not usually one to play into these little debates but I have to say, I get weird looks when I tell folks I like the humans just as much sometimes, I really do.

And she will probably have the same vacant look, confirming his need to overcompensate with the rest of his body mass.

Try to imagine the Star Wars universe with nothing but humans.  Yeah...

Mass Effect 3: The Vega Menace.

Will there be more featurettes? Because I could stand to see Ashley in a bubble bath. This is just a suggestion.

Don't worry, we're not all like that.

I disliked him then and I dislike him now ;D

Mwuhahahahahahaha ;)

As long as you're consistent. Just means you aren't fake, and I respect that.

Eeer, as long as you're consistent ? So I hated him before, I must hate him now ?
I condemned multiplayer before I saw the trailer, saw more about it,  I must be now against multiplayer.

I condemned Ashley as a racist person, without even trying to talk with her, finally, I changed my mind after some cool stuff with her. Do you think, consistent or inconsistent is relevant ?

That seems still childish and dumb.

If you're wrong, you have to admit you were wrong and you can change your mind. There is nothing silly about it.

Not at all.

The beautiful thing about the world is there's a diverse range of opinions and viewpoints.
This forum would be near defunct if everyone agreed on everything all the time, the thing that keeps these forums interesting is the healthy debate and there's abosultely no harm in some one not liking something.

For example I dislike James Vega, however I love Garrus Vakarian and persoanlly think he's one of the greatest video game characters yet.

So quit bashing people for haveing different stand points, beacuse if they didn't you would have little to talk about.

Yours ever

Alex

;)

? Mhh., it seems you didn't understand. Your opinion is fine, his logic is wrong. You can stand on your initial judgment, and that's fine, but if other change their mind, that doesn't mean they are fake, or they are inconsistent, because that's not the point. That mean they are adults enough to recognize they were wrong if they think so, their view that can evolve you know, and finally they can love something. etc etc.

I didn't like Jacob, finally, I like him enough. It has nothing to do with being inconsistent with myself.

I also liked to see that many gamers changed their mind about multiplayer. Did I say, whaaa, you are inconsistent ? No, I was glad to see, they used their brain to at least think about it and see that it could be a good thing finally. ( those who think it's still wrong, that's their opinion and that's fine )

That mean, that finally, they can use their brain. We are adults.

Okay then

My bad :)

Considering that he will probably be bisexual in the game MaleShep will also have an option to compare he's and Vega's reach and flexibility.

BAM!

I said this already; only 2 of your 7 ME3 squadmates are human. That's hardly a large number.

And most major Star Wars characters are indeed human. Certainly a much higher percentage than ME.

No kidding! I'd rather have fewer characters and more time to delve into their stories, quality trumps quantity.

Would like to see more featurettes on other companions too!

What of it? Would master Yoda be less wise if he was pink instead of green? Most of the main cast of the Star Wars movies are human already.
Being of a different species doesn't automatically makes a character more insteresting than the human characters on the squad. It seems to me that, most of the time, it's actually the opposite. The human characters have to actually be worked on extensively to make them different from people you can meet everyday while the aliens just are.
Sure, you have aliens who are extremely interesting like Wrex or Mordin but then you also have aliens like Tali whose character appears to be limited to being a quarian and they, somehow, get a free pass to every game in the series.

I'm still jealous of FPJ. He married Buffy. Goddddammmmmnnn lucckkkyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. And he gets to be a character in a game series he likes. Which is even better.

Because there's no POSSIBLE way that Ashley died and you have a Sentinel on the squad instead, right? Oh, the humanity!

Vega serves a purpose beyond being just a new squad mate.

A new human character, that fits the more traditional soldier through and through, that will be appealing to the crowd that love COD and straight up shooters. This will also provide an easy to relate to character that experiences everything for the first time like you as a new player would.

So he helps get a crowd that may not play ME, into ME and helps keep them there.

I wasn't keen on him before seeing this, but afterwards I am more endeared to him.

Heh.

He looks pretty basic and "dumb". Not sure why they spend time if they are going to create the most stereotypical meat-head they could ever have.

Not a fan.

Having large muscles doesn't make him a stereotype, you're just projecting that onto him.
