There's no way that they would have just added the sound by mistake... :D

Of course, if Bioware do give some guns that still overheat, I will basically hurl my cash at their direction. :)

Definitely not a mistake

When the weapon has overheated, it will produce those sounds and fire nothing but steam until you replace the heatsink with a new one.  This works the same way as it did in ME2, just with better feedback as to what's happening.  It occured to me one night in a dream (not even joking) that the ME1 beeps should be there.  When I put them in, it just felt... right...  B)

Thanks Joel.

It makes me happy to hear that some of what made Mass Effect cool (beeping futuristic weapons, the Normandy's moody lighting, the big Citadel hubs) is making a comeback. One of the big problems I've heard (and experienced myself) with ME2 is that it lost some of the identity that the series was "born" with. Good to know that you guys have that covered moving into ME3.

I'm assuming he's talking about Michael Beattie

That's why I asked: I'm not so sure Beattie is struggling.  That and, you know, there's absolutely no evidence that the hiring of one is correlated with the not-hiring of the other.  Or, also you know, no actual numbers on which to base the judgment that Prinze was overpaid.

Gehh, the Normandy texture still looks very low res.

What's up with that?

Which texture?  There's not just one.

Wow the Trolls are still whining about this? You guys haven't even played the game yet. Bioware is doing a good job with ME3. Their getting talent together to make the best possible title they can make, and you guys are going to hate on everything they do? Quit acting like you could do better, because we both know you can't, otherwise you be doing it right?

Freddy Prinze jr. is Donny Crane in Boston Legal who is the son of Denny Crane who is William Shatner who is Kirk.

So Vega is the son of Kirk!

So I'm not the only one who noticed!  Awesome!

Boston Legal was actually a pretty good show, man.  Alan Shore + Denny Crane = best bromance.

Well I'm still dreaming of Benjamin Sisko joining Shepard's squad, but I'll take Kirk's son for now.

Way to take a job from struggling voice actor and give it to an over-paid talentless hack, BioWare.

Which struggling VA?

Any of them.  There are thousands of voice actors out there the majority of who struggle to get steady work and pay the bills.  Instead of giving one of these people a job they give it to a millionaire who is without question one of the worst actors to work in Hollywood in the past twenty years.

But what does being a bad actor in movies have to do with voice work? For all we know, he could hit it out of the park. Don't judge it without hearing him in the full game first.

From what little I've heard of Vega's lines, his delivery sounds good to me. I don't know where you get this "worst actor" thing.

Seconded. He's getting more and more depth every time he's shown. And that I approve of. He seems like a happy medium between goody-two shoes, hard-ass Jacob, and emotional, traumatic-past Kaidan. And yes, I took the extreme interpretations of both of those characters.

James might just end up being one of the better characters, simply because the his VA (while I'd only heard the name once or twice) genuinely appreciates the series and knows the two previous installments quite well from the way he talked about them. I doubt every VA does.

Alas, three hours of buffering and I'm only at 2:47 of 3:45.

I want to go back to campus now and have real internet. Two more days, two more days...

Wing Commander, I Know What You Did Last Summer, She's All That, Scooby Doo...

Terrible, terrible actor.  Out of those late 90s twenty-something actors possibly only Chris Klein was worse.

Ha, that vid had almost more interesting footage than the GTTV episode.

I like how Sparky is just walking around in the background too.

I can relate. A few days ago, I only got about 100kb/sec because of a storm.

I actually did find the video more interesting than the GTTV episode.

Also, I just realized: Having both a "Sparky" and "Sparks" on the ship could be a little confusing.

To each his own, but I still stand by my assessment. His delivery seemed pretty good from what I've heard so far.

The facial animations did seem a bit bland, but looking at the Sur'Kesh demo, Mordin had some pretty good facial animations. Maybe they're both just too concentrated on the sparring to react heavily?

I'm liking vega even more, I'm of the opinion that during the sparing match shepard is holding back. I mean come on shepard went toe to toe with a yagh thanks to cybernetic upgrades.

I love the scene from 2:42 on with the normandy and teh turian fleet

Yeah I'm expecting something like that scene from To Sir, with Love where Sidney Poitier lets the punk wail on his face for a while and then puts him in his place with one punch.

So being in bad movies means he shouldn't get any jobs at all. Bit of a Catch-22 there.

Every film actor ever would be out of a job.
