You know what, that's surprisingly spot on!Omega-202 wrote...
I think that Freddie did a better job of pitching the game than Casey or Aaron or Jesse ever did.
He really understands what stands out about the series and about the characters. He gets the heart and soul of Mass Effect and the idea of living out an epic sci-fi novel in real time and how at the basest level, Mass Effect is about the characters and their feelings and perspectives.
BioWare should put Freddie out as the PR voice for this game. Less Mac and Casey, more Freddie (and some Seth Green would be nice, he seemed to get the series pretty well from his ME2 interview).

An outsider might think he's some anime prettyboy or something.

Yeah, they look the same

I agree and I and surely Bioware too knew it would change with times. I'm glad to see that my intuition was right.Mr. MannlyMan wrote...

Neither are the majority of the Mass Effect squad members. Other characters as well. Shepard being the most notable for not being the "brightst bulb in the box".CptData wrote...
I like Vega already. Sure, he's maybe not the brightest bulb in the box, but he can do his job. I won't only give him a chance, he might be one of the most-used squaddies in ME3, next to my fave character.

Funny thing is he sounds softer than he looks, not a bad thing, but I didn't expect it.
This. Does anybody know how old is Vega supposed to be? According to the conversationg with Shepard he must be younger, but how much younger?
Don't quote me on this but it might be 26. Can't remember if the devs/writers actually tweeted that, though. I might just be imagining it.
My opinion of Vega hasn't changed. That is, I have no opinion at all.someguy1231 wrote...

But Vega looks like as bulky 'dudebro' on fanart as he does in actual screenshots so what's exactly your point?someguy1231 wrote...

Read my post again. I was referring to fanart. Fanartists aren't exactly known for adhering to a character's canonical appearance. Most of them just turn the character into whatever their ideal man (or woman) looks like for their own self-gratification. If you don't believe me, just search DeviantArt for any character who isn't known for being attractive or beautiful.

I was unsure from the look of him from the get go.
Then i heard the worst news possible he was voiced by Freddy Prinze Jnr.
Then i watched featurette.
Now i'm deleting my attempted alliance loyalist playthrough & hoping against hope i can isolate or remove him in my canon run.

There's no way that they would have just added the sound by mistake...
Of course, if Bioware do give some guns that still overheat, I will basically hurl my cash at their direction.
Definitely not a mistake
When the weapon has overheated, it will produce those sounds and fire nothing but steam until you replace the heatsink with a new one. This works the same way as it did in ME2, just with better feedback as to what's happening. It occured to me one night in a dream (not even joking) that the ME1 beeps should be there. When I put them in, it just felt... right...

I'm disappointed in myself. The video was pretty good, but what made me most excited was seeing the pet robot dog in the background. WTF is wrong with me?
Good video.

You're actually correct. Mac Walters tweeted Vega's age, if I recall correctly. And I seem to remember 26 as well.
Thank you!BAOBAB_AOTEAROA wrote...
he said it perfetly- ME characters are ACTIVE not REACTIVE.
They shape and define what our Mass effect story is and it's world.
They make the ME world real, palpable and touching.
Are we going to listen to them? Are we going to help them achieve their goals or are we going to despise them?
Are we going to make love with them or refuse them? what will the reaction be?
What did they do in all this Time?how did they change?......
There was a thread somewhere on BSN about the influence of SKYRIM on future BIOWARE games and about the so called skyrim ERA .........
there is ONE huge difference
Todd Howard keeps saying (for both fallot 3 and skyrim):
" the world is our character "
.....and in response to this bethseda keeps clattering the world of it's games with thousand of small objects and details.
These details make the world credible.
BIOWARE games are on the opposite side of the spectrum.
Chracters are the world.
the relation we built with them define how we feel and remember the game, how we care about it.
The possibilty to build these relations over THREE games, in one continuos story arch, is the "new thing" that ME ,Casey Hudson and his team, have made to the gaming world.

The animations in general aren't looking too hot. Like the running combat animation are hilariously stiff and robotic.
