As some users have pointed out, at 2:12 in this video, there's the classic overheating beep noise and heat coming out of the gun. Does this mean that overheating weapons are back?
I believe they're just re-using the sound as a non-visual queue for reloading, since we know thermal clips are returning.

We've heard it in the Collector's Edition unboxing video, but back then most thought the audio guy used random ME sounds he liked. But this? It's straight form the actual footage! This is really weird. Are they bringing overheating weapons back? Maybe (through mods) we will have options to either have limited ammo and use sinks or unlimited ammo and have overheating? That would be amazing!
This time, Bioware, Give us a freakin' choice.

Or maybe enemies can overheat your weapon, forcing you to change heat sinks and costing you ammo.

I didn't see a clip fall out of the gun. Only the heat and the beeping.

It always bothered me how somehow within 2 years, overheating guns were UTTERLY non-existent in every part of the galaxy.

Thank you so much for your input.SovereignWillReturn wrote...
Personally, I was just thankful my gun shot bullets and killed things, rather than what way it managed it's ammunition/heating requirements.

I see we have a newcomer by the looks of this post.
Bioware, give us the option. I want my gun to overheat. If someone else wants to use the ammo system, let them.

Yea, but did they beep?Yuoaman wrote...
The guns still overheated in ME2, they just developed an actual way to deal with it in the two years following ME1.
