I think that would be a great way to re-introduce the old school ME1 system in the game. Although, as Chris said, it isn't in the game. Maybe if they do more weapon DLC this could be something they could work on to satisfy the fans of the overheat system?

You know what, that's even better than what I just suggested. Horry for infinate ammo weapon mods. Perhaps you get it late in the game.
Absolutely! I mean, there's a ton of stuff that they could do to balance out how it would affect gameplay. Like you said, maybe finding it late in the game, or some things I was thinking of would be to nerf the damage the weapon does or maybe making it take up more than one upgrade "slot" (ie: it takes up two upgrade spaces instead of one, effectively counting as two "upgrades"). I'm not sure what all they'd have to do to tweak the engine to get it working right. Too bad at this point it'd have to be DLC of some kind, but I know if they included it in a weapon pack or a weapon upgrade pack, it'd be something I'd drop a few bucks on.
or a combination of a litle less damage and Less RPM this would reduce the temperature and alow the heatsink the vent the generated heat.
