My PC is, like, soooooooooooooo hardcore, dude! I mean, it's got, like, 8gb RAM with a i7 Quad Core @ 3 gHz and teh stuffs.

Okay, that's a lie. It's not a PC, it's a laptop.
On an off-note, I wish I could switch my video card. It's perfect for now, but I don't know how well it'll hold up in the future :pinched:

That is a damn fine laptop, though. My $500 Dell salivates at the very thought of it.

Is it a mac? It's rare as hell to find a laptop with windows that has such a high clock on the cpu.
Either way, would be nice as hell ho have a laptop with that hardware. What clock is it on the ram?

It's a Win7 64 bit Sony Vaio, and if I knew what the heck ram speed was I'd tell you
Edit: Oops, it's a 2.84 ghz, not 3. I'm computer illiterate, sorry.
And hey, I said I DIDN'T like people talking about specs :pinched: Dangit, what kinda hole did I dig myself into?

Nah. You just have to spend the big bucks. That's all!;)

Haha, it's fine, Lady. Myself, I only own this economy-grade laptop, anyway. I've just found myself talking the tech talk a bit more lately since I'm getting ready to invest in a gaming PC in a few weeks.

Exactly, buying a mac costs a fortune, even though you sell your house, wife and soul to the devil ;)

@LadyofRivendell
Nice, I didn't know Sony Vaio's was so awesome. I've never been interested in laptops but it's cool how fast they can be. A friend of mine bought an Asus (can't remember model name, a lot of numbers and letters) for about $700, and it's incredible what you can get for that money, even for a laptop. He can play almost anything on ultra on that thing lol.

Looking back, it probably would've been a better investment to buy a gaming desktop. I just don't have the space for one, and a laptop is a heck of a lot more convinient when you need to lug it around campus, even though mine's 6 pounds.

Well apparently my mid-high range pc owns it. Got a Geforce GTX 560ti and 4.5gb RAM (how the did I end up with 4.5? Weird number since I bought two 2gbs...) My processor lets the side down though: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3GHz. Pretty unremarkable imo. Gets the job done, though.

Of course all this is redudant for me. I got ME1 when it came out which means all my saves are on my 360. Go figure.

I also got 4.5
I think those 0.5 are from the HDD, PCs always allocate a little from the HDD. I guess the default is 512mb.

What I find funny is that, for ME2, it specifically mentions the HD 4350 as being below the required minimum specs.

I ran ME1 and ME2 on a HD 4350 at medium-high settings.
I got console (30) framerates. Easily playable.

Heh, of course now I run a 6870 so I'm fine.

My laptop has the opposite. 4GB is installed but only 3.5 is detected. I would think that the Graphics part of the APU would eat up that missing .5GB, but there's 2GB allocated to it, not .5GB.

A friend has a laptop with some vram of it's own and some that is allocated from the ram. Maybe yours is similar in that aspect?

Of course I can run it.....I can run it to perfection without ever using Origin or submitting my PC to horrible things. The Xbox360 always runs its games to flawless perfection including ME3 and if I can get along with Kinect's voice recognition(which won't be an issue for most, it's just my accent) then all will be good but still there's no question that the ultimate ME3 experience is only possible on the 360.

You clearly have never played PC game.. I have an Xbox 360 and I will mainly be playing ME3 on the X360.. but man, I just got in the the whole "PC Gaming" thing and I can already say PC gaming is wayyyyy better than console. I use a wired Xbox controller (not used to mouse + keyboard yet) so really it's better in every way.

Just bought myself an Asus G74SX gaming notebook and dude, game graphics are far superior on pc, games play smoother on pc (frames per second) and if you don't like mouse + keyboard (like me) use a wired X360 controller.. that simple. I still prefer gaming on my X360 but don't ever say console gaming is better than pc cause theres absolutely no way.. the only people who say that are people who have never played pc games... cause I used to say that too.

Console gaming > PC gaming for me. It's easy to understand why if you saw my gaming room.

My game-room setup is:

- A nice, big and luxury sofa (most important part of console-gaming, being able to play from your sofa).
- A nice 40inch full 1080p HD telivision with ambi-light (no PC monitor is that big or has ambi-light).
- A nice 5.1 dobly digital surround system (the sound is coming from every corner of the room).
- Beer within arm's reach standing on a table besides me.
- Girlfriend within arm's reach on the other side, watching me playing while hanging on the sofa next to me.
- No long installations, less bugs, always the certainty that the game will run flawless without worrying about upgrading your system or updating your drivers, no driver or hardware issues or whatsoever, just put the DVD in the console and play. Super chill.

Try to beat that with PC gaming. You can't.

Let's see... I hook my PC to TV and that's it. Are you just ignorant or ...?

Long installations? Dude... If you do not install new console games you get awful experience and install times aren't long (WTF - few minutes max from DVD that you have to do once!?!). Upgrading is fun and if you don't have the money, you can do it every five year and still get superior experience to consoles. To me 30 FPS that slips bellow that too often and without antialiasing and AF (and upscaled 720p resolution or even worse) is far from flawless perfection.

But anyway, that was not the point of this thread lets move forward...

PC threads always scare me. More often than not, they're filled with people bragging over their PC specs. At least I haven't seen much console bashing around here.

gj! enjoy your 30fps

Come on, there's no need to be like that  If I wanted it for PC, I would've gotten it for PC.

Seriously. Good lord, people.

Hey all!

John at www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx was kind enough to add the ME3 Demo system reqs to the "Can you run it?" program!

Edit: Please keep in mind that these are the reqs for the DEMO and are subject to change before the actual release of the game. Take your results with a grain of salt and keep this in mind.

There already *IS* a discussion of Game Requirement speculation that part of this probably should have been added as a part of.

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/7091175/1

This particular duplicate instance, should become more of a discussion about bad information originating from sites such as SR Labs, and the too many errors their software makes.

I apologize if you feel that way, however the reqs on the site can be found in Chris Priestly's post about the demo (social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/9006884) and are taken directly from there. As for speculation, there is none here; there are only facts about the demo reqs, and a few sparks of flame war which are quelled.

Edit: As for that speculation thread, it seems little more than a circlejerk with very little substance as to the performance requirements of the game. At least here, there is a link for people to follow and check their machines against the KNOWN demo reqs.

Except for the very REAL fact that SR labs' software is rotten, and screws up far too high a percentage of easy checks with outrageously stupid responses.  And then there is the usual misunderstanding that Bioware always manages to insert and turn any set of requirements into a guessing game, which has been addressed in the master thread.

Well well, Macs aren't exactly anything magical (as apple touts every product of their's!) but mainly overpriced stuff you can find elsewhere without the apple logo and also without quality loss. As for big bucks, a laptop capable of playing games at high (ultra is simply not possible with some games at high res), a $1100 laptop with GTX 560M should suffice.

ok the demo is out.

my 2.4ghz i3, 4gb ram 1gb ati radeon hd 5470 laptop played me2 fine on full graphics 720p

however i don't no if its my system or the game... the frame rate on me3 looks a bit off in cut scenes.
Also the menu was really slow....until i turned off the 'dynamic shadow' option in graphics/options. Then it speeded up.
The shadows options effect my gameplay frame rate ever so slightly too...i think

Wondering if anyone else with a borderline recommended system requirement system is having similar experiences.

And wondering if anyone knows what setting the graphics in the demo is on..if it can be altered/reduced just in case and is the full game likely to me more or less demanding on my system then the demo

CYRI is not reliable. Many times before it lied about my PC being too slow. I run ME2 smoothly on maximum settings in 1920x1080 so I expect minor drop of performance.

As both a 360 and PC gamer, I am going to have to disagree here. Many current gen games look much better, run much smoother, and are much more moddable on PC. Does this mean consoles are inferior? No, it just means you can do different things on a PC than a console. However, a console does some things much better than a PC, many platform or action games play much better on consoles because of the requirement for a gamepad, it can have a much tighter online feature (XBL vs Steam for example), and is less expensive to get into.

That said, I started this series on 360, I'm finishing it there. No real motivation for two copies of the same game, espescially without Steam support.

PC is more moddable yes but not much more so....360 saves of ME2 can be modded just as much as PC games and I have modded them.....my sheps have TIM's eyes in a lighter and much brighter nuance of blue....gibbed's editor works with 360 saves. Besides that Mass Effect in general is very limited when it comes to modding so I'm not missing a great deal when it comes to ME modding. Kinect speech recognition will be a far grater gain.

There haven't been any good mods for basicly anything since HL/HL2, most of them are just "biggernudertitsetc.exe"  Fallout 3 have some but they aren't really extensive at all and tend to bug out a lot.

Team Fortress classic, Counterstrike, Pirates Vikings and Knights, They Hunger, USS Darkstar, Point of view, those were mods.

Yeah I remember I bought GTA4 because CYRI told me my old computer could handle it quite ok, I could run it, but the draw-distance wasn't even long enough for me to see my character...this caused...problems.

I can run it on PC and it looks beautiful, but sometimes it will jump from 40-50 FPS to 10-20 FPS.

I'm gonna just hold on to my Xbox 360 CE Pre-Order for now....
