Hipsters are among the scum of the earth. The company of a meth addict is more enjoyable. They're mainstream and cool with it until they stab you and take your money.

See that UrbanDictionary "definition" somebody posted earlier? That is what hipsters think of themselves. The reality is that thanks to their parents they're usually upper middle-class individials with a decent education. Yet they've been made to think that the whole universe revolves around them. They have a complete lack of common sense and good tastes. They reject the "cultural norms" of your terribly unjust society and reject your mainstream tastes and fashion.

They're the type of students who pick those degrees of questionable utility at college and live off their parents. After all they're only going to work for a non-profit that recognizes their great talents. Anything else would be below them and violate their oh-so-noble sociopolitical ideals. They don't care what mainstream society thinks of them, because they're better than everybody else.

There is a good chance they drive a Prius covered in bumperstickers informing you of their "enlightened" political/social beliefs.

I for one would love to see the moment when a hipster recognizes that reality doesn't give a **** about them and a part-time job at the food co-op won't cut it. The moment when their parents tell them they won't keep paying for a masters degree in modern art or gender studies.

Hipster forumla: '60s hippies + '90s yuppies +  Apple products + 100% more douchebaggery.

Hipsters are the majority of people in those Occupy protests, in America at least. Them and those crazy anarchists who are just there to cause trouble...
