The Rachni queen cant be indocrinated and as for being turned into a husk thats almost an impossibility seeing as the queen will and as as we can see underground and will be surrounded by (millions) of rachni seeing as the queen is the most important thing to a colony I doubt they will get close to her also the eyes dont seem blue but black and we dont know anything about rachni queens as she was young when you first found her its possible its what a mature queen looks like

Actually Mass Effect 1 strongly hints that Rachni Queens can be indoctrinated.

When talking about the Rachni War, the Queen tells Shepard that a "tone from space" forced the Rachni to "resonate with its own sour yellow note." The way the Rachni Queens communicate is a little cryptic, but she appears to be talking about Reaper indoctrination. If so, it means the Rachni War was Sovereign's Plan A. The Eden Prime war was Plan B.

I guess that means by ME3 the Reapers are at plan E or F, maybe even G.

yea but the current Rachni queen knows about it now so she can counter reaper influence as for the corruption thing I whould assume its like making a false signal like maybe transmitting a fake song from a queen and then other queens belive the song so they all think that they need to go to war

That's not how Indoctrination works.

I Killed the queen based on the situation. i think a lot of people play Shepard like a super computer. methodically planning out each decision for ten minutes before deciding.

i put myself in the situation and think about what i would do if i was in a position of command. not sit in the dialogue wheel for an hour thinking " hmm.. i wonder that this will mean in ME2?" that's how i make all my choices. i don't spend a lot of time thinking. i act in the moment of the situation. that's all most can do. unless you're Batman or Ozymandias or course.

I "kept" the queen. From a pragmatic point of view.

The Reapers are a formidable force and I will need every single ally I can scrounge up against them. I will need every single living organism to fight them. I wont be stupid about it though.

Since the rachni can repopulate themseves rather quickly, Ill put them in situations where they are cannon-fodder. Situations where more evolved and more intelligent lifeforms are not suited. Id be a ****** to put Salarians up front in an infantry frontline style confrontation. The rachni however fit that bill perfectly. They are sentient organic lifeforms and the reapers will destroy them if given the chance. The rachni have little reason to go back on their deal to help me out. At least untill the reapers have been put down.

As for indoctrination, everyone can be. The quarians might have leaders that are indoctrinated. The geth might have had some backdoor programming courtesy of Sovereign that allows them to jump back from being "reprogrammed" (allthough I doubt it would be so in ME3). There are no races that are immune from the corruption from the Reapers. Promises of a fate as servants rather than extinction was enough for Saren to cut a faustian deal. Wouldnt be hard to imagine a Salarian doing the same. Or any other race for that matter.

Perhaps. It's not clear wether Sovereign tried using the Rachni to clear out the council races from the citadel in order so sovereign could invade and activate the relay like he tried in ME1.

He might have wanted to see the power of the Asari and Salarian military by pitting them against the Rachni.
Or maybe his plan was more far reaching and he knew there were other races around that would reach spacefaring state in a few centuries, and he simply wanted to take out one or two species he felt were not worthy of becoming reapers anyway.

From Harbinger's taunts about Krogan it seems the Reapers consider them highly useful (If not for the Genophage) so maybe sovereign even wanted the other races to contact the Krogan, seeing as without the Salarian's uplifting it would've been centuries or even millenia until the Krogan were ready for spaceflight.

ETA: Comparing the images of the Rachni queen on page 1. The first is from ME3, the 2nd is from ME1. Really shows the graphics difference properly... Me wants ME3 NOW!

Like to place a bet on that?, it's strongly suggested that the Rachni will help to build ships, mind you, I don't judge a book by it's cover, big and ugly don't always mean evil.

If saving the Rachni means you have to fight them instead of having them fight for you, I am very screwed. And disappointed, only because I really wanted to see them take out a Reaper or two. Serves me right for sparing the buggers though. (see what I did there? Oh nevermind.)

Having the Rachni survive would make things very interesting after the reaper war.

Especially if the Krogan cure the Genophage. It could be a bloody free for all.

You mean apart from the Rachni husk enemies you fight in ME3?

Yes, apart from them, anyone who has played and imported a character from ME1 to ME2 will get more of a story about the Rachni when they meet a certain character on Iliam, I forget her name now.

Oh, that asari woman. She didn't have a name IIRC.

I thought you were talking about ME3.

The Rachni queen assured us her species aren't agressive naturally so I doubt any race willing to live with them peacefully has anything to worry about. The Krogan bear a grudge against them it seems but it should decrease as time goes by. None of the Krogan who fought in the Rachni wars are alive by the time ME takes place and only the oldest fought in the Krogan Rebellions so 'modern' Krogan will have less of a reason to fight the Rachni.

And if they want to duke it out.. fine. Let the Rachni and Krogan duke it out, no reason to get involved anyway :pinched:

Well the Rachni Queen isn't going to turn on us. It's a lasting decision. I mean, ME3 is set... what... - 3 - 4 years after ME1? Bugs can grow big in that time, I mean... I like to think of the swarms of Rachni soldiers like the ones as seen in starship troopers. Those will come in handy, especially seeing how these bugs can build their own ships and... yeah. It'd be like the Geth Armada. We have no idea how many ships the geth have built over a 300 year period but it's gotta be larger than the flotilla.
