Anyone know if we'll be able to choose between different combat outfits? The old outfit shown in the beta/demo and this armor? Just wondering. Thanks.
I am hoping for a selection of outfits, for noncombat outfits too. Really don't like Ash's noncombat outfit and would much prefer a real Alliance uniform

Would rather have something in-game, but that's more likely how it would turn out.
Their might be that one extra costume , but to get anymore you going to have to buy the dlc costume packs.

S1 is the starting ranking for all System Alliance Military personal. Now this was taken from Mass Effect Wikia page about the N7 ranking, but it is almost the same thing, besides the N7 and the Special Forces section
"N7 is a vocational code in the System Alliance military. The "N" designates special forces and the "7" refers to the highest level of proficiency. It applies to marines who have graduated from an elite training program."
That's an interesting theory...
Is not a "theory", IS IN THE CODEX!
Go read it an see for yourself...

I think it's because everyone is so use to seeing her hair in a bun , now that it's down she seems more like a twin sister of ash.
That's likely the case. Changing a person's hair can really alter a person's appearance to many people. But when you really look, the hair's the only thing about her that's really changed. I'd also prefer an option to pull it back, but the armor was the most important thing.
We might not be able to tie up her hair, but at least we get the option to put her (and every other squadmates) face in a bucket.
Not completely happy about it, but i'm very glad for that option at least. Now that she has armor her othe suit doesn't seem so bad to me.

Yes, the N7 thing is in the Codex. That nonsense about S1 being the "starting rank", however, is not. It's just plain made-up.
Yes, the rank thing is nonsense, I did not clarify that, thanks for the correction.
He is the Codex entry for those wandering:
"The Alliance Military Vocational Code system classifies the career path of all serving personnel. The MVC consists of one letter and one number. A soldier's MVC indicates proficiency, not rank. The letter notes career path; the number indicates level of experience, as indicated by service record, technical scores, and commendations. All 26 letters are used, and numbers run from 1 to 7. N is the letter code for Special Forces personnel."

That suggests the "S" does not stand for Spectre then, as it looks like that letter was in use before Shepard became the first human Spectre.

No, the fact that they replaced the white pants with something that actually matches the rest of the outfit makes the suit not quite so bad. Still bad, but it helps a little.

I'm still annoyed that a professional soldier like ashley isn't tying her hair up, but her getting armor is definitely a good thing.
Bioware really needs to get a military adviser or something though, they make so many mistakes it really make me cringe.
I'm late to the party, but this this this. Also, facial hair/long top cuts on males. It's not there for a reason, so your M40 gas mask actually seals tightly enough to your face to keep your stupid a** alive if you ever actually need to use it. I'd think the same could be said for the sealing of helmets/armor that are self contained?
AR 670-1, this is not...

Spectres aren't military, Cerberus isn't military so nethier of them act like the Military, and most Bioware fans would be annoyed if everything was all military like.Nashiktal wrote...

And it's sad that people expect that in a fictitious game. I could make a game with characters in an army and the only required uniform is special gear and anything else from clothing to how the hair is worn is up to the soldier...

Sad to have expectations? Not quite.
But when you spend 8 years in the Army, some of those things just almost seem expected when dealing with a professional military organization. Is it silly? Of course it is! but it's hard to say it doesnt give you a certain way of looking at things from there on out and for people like me, its just a small thing that is enough to irk me in the gran scheme. But you are right, who am I to tell someone how they play THEIR game. If you want to stuff your mulleted, biker bearded dome into an N7 breather helmet and choke to death on the hair, by all means!

If you want I bet there is an option for a helmet, but I'm looking for aesthetics rather than realism in this case. It is what you should do as well seeing as this is a fictitious Sci-fi game, where in the future hair no longer impedes helmets because they can.

Well it bugged me, just cause in ME2 they felt the need to make the ladies sleazy, instead of in ME where they were more professionally dressed.
