I would've liked a scenario where Shepard notices they haven't got a chance and all they can do is try to warn the next cycle. But sadly, that's not to be.

Even if the Reapers won't win, there might still be an option for Shepard to record a warning to the next cycle. Just in case.

I think it is a shame that there is no 'Reapers Win' scenario. As undesireable it may be for a player to achieve it may have been fun to see and it at least makes you feel like there was actually a threat from the Reapers. Oh well. I hope at least, unlike the suicide mission, there is no perfect ending where you save everyone and everything.

I feel this way also. They could have made it like the Shepard dies scenerio from ME2, where you'd actually have to be trying to sabotage the mission to get the worst ending.
That way there wouldn't be a danger of someone triggering the "Reapers Win" ending accidently. And it would also give the game more replayability.

That bothers me too. I think I am done with BioWare after Dragon Age 3 if they pull a popular ending route like they did with the Mass Effect series. This is war and when an advanced race of killing machines who have been doing this for possibly billions of years, than there is no credibility left if they don't have a chance at winning.

Considering that there is a Mcguffin I would be surprised if they don't win (well barely win) since something like that should either kill the Reapers or force them to retreat.

I don't necessarily completely trust this article entirely since this does contradict other things I've heard. Eh it could be true but it seems that worst ending isn't a win at all. It still seems like a loss option.

There could be a sort MAD ending. Reapers end up reaping most races in the war and Shepard ends up using a superweapon to kill the Reapers and the remaining forces fighting the Reapers.

Remember, BioWare told us there would be no PS3 version and that this is Shepard's story and as such you'd only play as him. I'm sorry dude but we've been lied to before and who's to say they wouldn't lie to us again. It's not about if we lose a lot. It's about if we lose it all which should be a logical option. EA destroyed the name of BioWare.

(15) Casey Hudson is quoted as saying that it is "a good idea to stick to your principles" with regard to your style of action, i.e. Paragon/Renegade. And I hoped we wouldn't be railroaded onto one path this time.... Though the context suggests that this might be NPC-specific, i.e. you should stick to your principles with regard to decisions affecting one character or species. I would like some clarification on this.

I don't like that part. It makes it comes down to "Be Good. Be Evil. Don't be honest, because it'll hurt you more".

Bad enough, on the Pulse Episode on Voice Overs, they direct based off "Renegade Playthrough".

(11) There will be no "Reapers win" scenario, based on the reasoning that such an ending is unsatisfying for players and would lead to re-loading a saved game anyway. There will, however, be endings where whole species become extinct and many worlds are destroyed, including Earth.

What would a reapers win scenario be? I mean in game terms the only way you fail is to die (true of ME1 and ME2) so how can you get a failure ending? I guess you could always have that by not reloading your dead shep. There is no "Sovereign Wins" ending in ME1 or the collectors win in ME2.

No ME1 PS3 version and it is Shepard's story.

If Bioware lied to us before then I can easily say the magazine article is an entire lie. Right now you are just choosing what you personally want to be a lie to fit your argument.

(6) Some missions are mutually exclusive. Which one you choose from a set of options might affect the fate of civilizations and the loyalty of NPCs.

(7) Some optional missions may become unavailable if you don't finish them before certain story events happen. That might adversely affect your campaign.

(11) [...] There will, however, be endings where whole species become extinct and many worlds are destroyed, including Earth.

(14) [...] Many loose ends from the first games will be tied up, including the mystery of the Keepers. (I hope I'll meet Chorban again).

A bit more shlt like this and I may even forgive them for their screw up with the demo.

This thread really brought the hype back online. Thanks OP. 5 stars

That doesn't make any sense.. Are they trying to force us to hate the council?

You don't hate the Council?

No

Sounds pretty rad that there'll be actual areas controlled by Reapers that depend on your actions.

I WANTED that ending to be available. I'm sad now.:(

Well sucks for me and all the othe PS3 players since our stories and decisions are as deep and definitive as Xbox's and PC's players are.

Based on point 2...I'd like a dialog option where I tell the Citadel Council I should have let them die against Sovereign.
something like "I knew saving you would bite me in the backside. I should have let you die!"

That Reapers mini-game... Should be an 8-bit horizontal 2-D space shooter.
Also, I'm liking that certain squad members will react to certain decisions. It'll be reminiscent of Dragon Age.

You do know that the Alliance is still part of the council in this right? Also I do think that the Turians are possibly on your side initially since they are getting curb stomped also. Its just that many of the Citadel races and maybe the other council races don't see it as their problem at the moment.

I can't believe the people on the Citadel would think the war isn't their problem. I mean c'mon! How short sighted and stupid are these morons. I almost want to give the Citadel to the Reapers now.

Many don't want to be bothered or accept the truth. The council's backslide on reapers in ME23 is evidence of this. And what if someone declared war on Russia or another country we don't like. We'd all be, "Eh, not our problem"
Since in the beginning only Earth and the baterians are attacked, and no one likes either race.

Well this sucks. No matter what happens, we'll always win, and to think the Reapers were hyped up to be these genocidal machines of mass destruction.

LAME.

Depends on your definition of winning. I don't call having most if not all known civilization destroyed to beat the Reapers.
