Hello,
My problem is that after having completed the game 7-10 times I wanted to make a bit of difference by 'tweaking' the dlc weapons as they were always a bit under-supplied
In my firewall plus I blocked mass effect 2 applications from connecting the internet ( as a safety measure I even plugged my internet cable out ) and after using giveme2entitlements ( While being completly honest, all of my DLC are paid for and legit ) and modifying the selected BioWeapon.inis it still pops up the message about the selected DLC not being valid when entering the game. In my online options of the game I have switched everything off, so it can't be this one thing. I modified the files using Notepad ++ but perhaps the ini files use some specific coding? Anyone knows how to fix it?

You can fix it by not using cracked versions of DLC and use the official versions only.

The point is that I am using the official DLC files. All of them. Seems to me that interaction of Notepad ( even ++ ) leaves a disturbance and though the game itself is prohibited from connecting the internet it finds out it that the files have been altered.

If you are amending any kind of file other than a straight text file, such as an ordinary INI, you have to start from the raw basic code, and then recompile, using the original compiler, not merely a text editor (the Coalesced INI has its own individual compiler). Decompiling doesn't produce an accurate enough set of code for anyone but a very experienced programmer to do much of anything at all with.

I am merely modifying a BioWeapons. For now though, becouse there is always a lust of changing DLC companions loadout and such : )

Read the modding thread linked in my sig. If you have any queries about modding, post in that thread, and not in the tech support issue, as it isnt an actual game problem.
To cut to the chase, you cannot edit the bioweapon.ini to mod any of the DLC weapons, you must copy/paste the entries in that file, into the coalesced.ini, then recompile the coalesced.ini. The thread tells yuo exactly how its done.
