We Gears players tried this, it doesn't really work. Different time zones and schedules prevent you from playing with the people you really want to play with.

Besides I'm still hoping that the Geth will be announced as a playable.

Could be the Geth are one of those pieces of multiplayer DLC that will come with the action figures. One of the possiblities is exclusive characters.

I think it would help if others, like myself and a few others, listed where they are playing from. It probably isn't going to be worth it if you friend somebody from halfway around the world and won't be able to play with.

True, but they tend to have really high and annoying voices over XBL
