I have been on the phone with EA support for 6+ hours and they have tried everything. I have purchased all the DLC for the game since the release date, most of it played until I downloaded the new assasins content and everything is showing up in my registered game content. I have reinstalled the game twice, downloaded and installed the DLC three times, logged in and out of the game with my Bioware account numerous times. I've uninstalled Steam (initial purchase place), installed it on EA's Origin program, game works but DLC still won't authorize. I was having the same problem with DA: ultamate edition but they were able to fix that problem with relative ease.

I'm at my wits end here, as are the representatives from EA technical support (one rep gave me the number to Bioware to get help from you guys, but I was immidiately repremanded for calling that number and disconnected) I figured this was the last place I would try; perhaps someone from Bioware can assist over the forum since they don't want to do it over the phone.

Please help.

There simply are no regular interactions in here from Bioware any more. Only the problems that patch 1.05 was intended to cover were getting any attention at all, and that was for DAO, not DA2, you have no forum resources at an official level.

Unofficially, forum archives are filled with various workarounds, especially in DAO.

I have found many workarounds for most of the DA2 DLC content but it feels ridiculous to hack the software that I have purchased legitimately. I have emailed Bioware as well but from what I understand they will just refer me to EA support. It feels like I'm at a brick wall and it is aggravating.

I feel that a developer should stand behind their product and help alleviate problems (especially when the authentication is on their end and has nothing to do with meeting the requirements for playing the game).

Thanks for your reply Gorath Alpha I wasn't aware that Bioware had jumped ship on their own forums. I will pursue other courses of action.

Bioware is much more interactive during active development, as you can see from the way ME-3's forums attracted their attention, but pretty much traditionally, within 6-8 weeks of release, all of their collective minds have moved on into whatever they are still in development on. Compared to Bethesda, they are downright familial until then.

This game generated reaction from the existing Bioware fans, and didn't attract nearly as many new gamers as it didn't hold onto from past games. Compared to DAO, it wasn't very successful. The Origins requirement is likely to put a crimp in ME-3, however, and doing the same to DA-3 almost certainly will doom it as far as PC gamers' attitudes right now are trending.

You're still complaining about the SITE, and not the game. Compared to the game, the distribution elements of the SITE have been dismal, however, you can be sure that it was EA dictating to Bioware what the parent company demanded of them that resulted in the worst aspects of it.

I'm not bashing the site or complaining about the members of it, I just figured Bioware would be here to peruse the tech problems of their games. If I was having other issues with one of their games I am sure that it would have been useful to be in touch with others that may be having the same issues and could possibly work on the issue together. Yet it seems that others unauthorized content and mine are two separate issues, at least from what I can tell.

I'm not really complaining about the game either, I know that there was a lot of hate over the differences between DAO and DA2, was it as good in my opinion; no, but it was worth the money.

I'm not trying to start a fight. I just figured posting here may get me in touch with Bioware, since it isn't going to I will have to find other ways to get the issue resolved. That is all I was trying to say. Sorry if it felt like I was bashing the site.

Hey, I LIKED the old Legacy site a ton better. As far back as I knew of Bioware, when Black Isles was the development house, I wanted to play the AD&D Icewind Dale game. I'd thought that I might like Baldurs Gate, but had not liked it. That's a good many years back. Between driver problems and hardware problems, IWD was impossible for me then.

But the community of game players at Black Isles was lively and interesting. Some while later, with another ISP, and a different Avatar name, Black Isles was gone, and NWN was in pre-release excitement stage; the community was similar, and although I didn't recognize any individuals, I felt at home in their company. Bioware's style was similar then, although it was as a contract from Atari they were on then, a far cry from EA.

Atari is a much worse outfit to look to for support than any other distributor. NWN was relatively buggy in its way, but Bioware had a good enough contract that patching continued for years, not merely weeks. KotOR was not on a similar contract, and never got the patching attention it might have.

NWN2 was not Bioware's, it was Obsidian's, as had been the case for KotOR2. Bioware continued to carry the forums (NWN2, not KotOR2), but the official attitude permeated the site = "not ours, not made here". NWN2 hardly had a chance that way.

I'm having the same problem. All has become "unauthorized" after "Mark of the Assassin" and I can't play.
I have also been hours talking to them, I let them use my pc, and even so, they haven't solved anything.
Also, I have found a way for it to not say unauthorized, but it doesn't matter because even authorized, the memento of Mark of the Assassin just won't show up, and therefore I can't play.
So now we are at least 2 people in the entire world who have this problem.

Any news?

Have you tried logging in to the game, not just connecting to the server but actually logging in, then starting a new game? I know the MOA and Legacy mementos did not show in a post campaign save for me until I got them in Gamlen's house first. I just ran the new game to Gamlen's house, then went back to my post campaign save and voila.

I have tried that like a hundred times, and now they are all unauthorized. I had checked in gamlen's house, in another safe I had also checked in my own house, but nothing, and now (thanks to the wonderfull help from EA) I can't play anything at all. Not even my brand new Legacy...

I have reinstalled the game, the DLCs, logged in, out, with another account, changed all the possible things (addins files included), got new codes for the DLCs just in case they were corrupted or whatever, and nothing. EA doesn't know why this is happening and they don't help anymore. So basically, I can't play any DLC... thank you very much EA!!!!!!

EA isn't here. Just game players, in case you ignored the forum description.
