Itachi isn't stupid. He's tragic. Everyone else around him however is stupid as f*ck. First and foremost Sasuke. He's like the Super Saiyan of stupid. And Kishimoto is VERY fond of asspulls, meaning Itachi isn't going to get spared the occasional Kishimoto "I don't give a ***" treatment and things just happen that in a reasonably planned story simply shouldn't happen. You can see how the whole story will dissolve into a patchwork of asspulls and surprise villians starting towards the end of the Akatsuki arc.  In my opinion, the only reason to continue watching Shippuuden after that arc is because of A and B. Those two almost make up for the entire rest, emphasis on "almost".

Anyone here ever watched any of the Mobile suit Gundam series? I'm curious . 

Yes. I have seen:

 

Mobile Suit Gundam

Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam

Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counter Attack

Mobile Suit Gundam: Unicorn 

 

I watched the series, not the movie versions. I have seen a small portion of Mobile Suit ZZ Gundam, but I am familiar with its ending.

I just wanted to add if people liked Clannad you might like Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, I don't really see it talked about as much but it's pretty solid in the same vein.

But he didn't for stupid reasons. Everything he did was stupid.

 

So he is stupid. The series ending on the message of "Who understood Itachi better" is stupid.

Itachi and the Fourth Hokage. Those two get way too much attention over on those boards, even if they're both pretty bad-ass.

The attention Itachi gets is deserved to a point. People calling Sasuke the best character in Naruto is a real head scratcher though. And by extension, liking Sakura. How can someone like Sakura?

 

To an extent. But when I hear people talk about how he could probably go toe to toe with Madara, I just face palm.

 

Sasuke though? Meh, I don't think he's meant to be a likable character, especially not as the story takes off. He's meant to come off as extreme and unbalanced, a result of all the messed up things he dealt with as a kid. He needs to get put down.
