Actually, a little story that recently popped up in my mind that is a reverse to what Puddi poses: There's a "lost" episode of Cowboy Bebop that is technically Japanese only and more of a philosophical take than a proper adventure of Spike and co sort of episode. From what I remember of the research, they made the episode after the series was temporarily cancelled in Japan because of the violence (vague details there as I am rusty on what actually caused it). I've only ever watched Bebop dubbed myself, but I liked the way the Japanese cast sounded. That put me in the situation of "Oh nooo. I'm used to the dub but the original casting sounds nice..."

I still haven't made up my mind if I'll ever watch it subbed though cause the dub really was/is fantastic.

I already saw Mami Tetris and I cannot watch certain scenes without thinking about that.. It's pretty much like that. Just preference I suppose. Like I said, I've had people get upset at me for saying an ending ruined a series for me telling me it shouldn't impact the rest of the work that much, but it can.

As amazing as I thought the start and middle of S;G was the ending pulled the rest of the series down significantly, same thing with ME3's ending. A lot of people disagree with me on those (especially S;G) but that won't change for me just because others felt differently.

Anyways when it comes to PMMM, I'm about as bias and stubborn as a person can get, I fully admit it.

Talked with Geth about that a few times. I'm fully aware that the PMMM dub might be decent but it will never actually stand a fair chance against the sub with me and therefore I genuinly don't see any point in trying it out. If other people like the dub, great! More PMMM viewers is always a good thing but the dub just isn't for us and that's just fine!

Exactly. I'm glad it exists (for the reason Rah mentioned) and I'm willing to admit it could be rather good, but there's no way it would be able to beat out my love for the original, so I see no reason to even find out.

I actually agree with most of your points about Steins; Gate (ie. Moeka, Dr. Nakabachi), I just disagree on your overall opinion of it.

Being upset about a bad ending is totally different. That's part of the work itself, of course it affects the quality of the work on the whole. If someone gets 'upset at you' over that they're just being stupid.

Works that run parallel to the series or are fan-made don't have the same effect at all, they can be discarded entirely and the original is in no way diminished. Maybe they still have an effect to you, but that's a bad example to demonstrate it.

I agree.  I watched through a few scattered episodes and it was fun just to compare.  Kyoko's English VA really nailed it during a few scenes.

Akane was already pretty good in Psycho-Pass season 1, but I'm liking her more and more now.

I mean, **** you Akane, Mika best character.

Really though, the level of stupid in the show is becoming something of a concern. Akane is evidently the only competent person alive anymore but she's still not really assertive enough to make much of a difference with it, even if she is more confident now.

Is Mika's stupidity dragging the show down? It's totes Mika isn't it?

My problem with Mika is unlike Akane in the first season when she was naive, she showed she wanted to change, she researched and talked. Mika is not doing that. She's simply spouting nonsense, insulting Gino, going behind Akane and not researching what happen last year that changed the team.  Plus she has shown to be a massive hypocrite. She thinks she's right and Akane is a fool. So yeah I hope she dies soon. :devil:

I still rank it as enjoyable and worth seeing. The passion behind previous rants is more due to the praise it gets and how people call it a "masterpiece" (reading reviews on MAL didn't help)

@Puddi

I used the ending example to show that the standards of how it can effect you opinion of a work can differ, nothing more. You obviously disagree with my standards, which I've already admitted are unfair and unreasonable in this case. I don't think there's much more to be said on that point.

I'm not bothered or anything, it's not like I gave the dub a chance either, but that's because I hardly ever re-watch shows period. I just didn't really get the reasoning there, but it's Isi's prerogative of course.

Don't be so sure, she was obviously shaken in the last episode. I'm sure she'll recover and go back to her ways, but I fully expect she'll come around eventually... if she doesn't die first.

And honestly who cares what Gino did years ago, he's a dog now.  :devil:

It would help if you read what I typed.

@Puddi

I've explained like 3 times now. It's really not that hard to get. I'll try again:

I'm bias and my standards are not objectively reasonable.

Why you keep bending over backwords to understand that is beyond me. It's basically me saying: you're right, but I'm too stubborn to care. Normally you'd think the conversation would end there but apparently I have to keep restating it.

I can point to many outside factors that are completely independent of the original work that can effect my opinion of something: Hype, my personal mood, parodies (which I already stated and you ignored to focus on another point) ect. that I don't expect others to agree with and are hardly objective, but those are still things that can effect me to a varying degree. Not all of these points effect me the same, nor is the effect of how much it bothers me or not the same, but those are still my personal feelings, regardless of whether you feel it is stupid or not (and I'd like to point out there are others in this thread who happen to agree with me on this point so obviously I'm not the only one)

I don't always care about objectivity when I judge something because sometimes you still enjoy something even when you know aspects of it are bad (take my conversation with Geth about Gantz for example, where I admitted I thought the plot was bad, but I still managed to enjoy it as a mindless action flick) or dislike something you know is not that bad (S;G for example where I stated the hype effected my overall opinion) I at least try to be honest about why I like or dislike something, and I admit I'm not always the best at explaining myself, but it's a bit frustrating when someone calls your opinions stupid without actually tackling the point of why you felt that way.

In this case I'm a raging fanboy. That's my reasoning. is that really so complicated?

I thought my saying it's your prerogative was to show that I had stopped, but now you want me to read all that rage too? Just calm down. And I didn't ignore anything.

I'll just go back to Bayo 2 and come back later. dub/sub arguments interest me as much watching paint dry.

Could be worse. Go on youtube and if the second post in said argument doesn't contain the phrase "****** weeaboo" count yourself lucky.  :D
