Fate/Stay Night
This was a more dialog focused episode--giving more exposition on the War and emphasis on characters--which was what I expected and I am glad for it. It goes without saying that one of the best things about this series so far is how it has managed to subtly convey important channels for providing characterization and playing out conflicts. The show has managed to mix between action oriented scenes with dialog heavy quite astutely, which is vital since the entirety of the Grail War is as much battles of manipulation between their participants as they are dogfights between the Servants. I never feel bored while watching this show, even when it is about stuff that I am already fairly aware of and this is due to the show's unique ability to convey information visually (through character movement, spatial arrangement within a shot, musical backdrop, etc).
The opening scene with Illya was rather interesting. I had completely forgotten about her relationship with Kiritsugu and Iris, and considering her position and unawareness of what they both went through, this has the potential for some interesting plot points and development, both for her and Emiya. Very pleased to see Rin being proactive--constantly doing something and planning ahead of things. Glad to see Archer pointing out and pressing Rin on her relationship with Shirou and where she truly stands. She can't simply keep on spouting about seeing him as an enemy without ever actually acting on her words, so having him being active on reminding her on her position and what will she do if a specific scenario pops up is something I am truly enjoying. Rin and Archer both are characters I am enjoying the most and I can't wait to see how the story continues.
