With Asuna, it was pretty obvious she was the love interest, and their relationship at least built up. So it's easier to look past the harem thing with her and enjoy her character I find. Along with her just being cool and badass...and cute...and pretty...and...uh...anyway....

Which is also why I hate Fairy Dance so much...along with the incest...that creeps me out...

 

Everyone else however. Kirito does a thing, immediately they want his D. Sinon was only slightly more gradual. Because she was really cool before but now...

This anime is following the unlimited bladeworks route, not Fate(which that horrible Dean animation) followed. This is a whole different route that diverged with the fight with Berserker. This is not a re-do or remake. It's an adaption oft he other route. the Heavens Fall movie will be based on the third route.

 

As for how close UBW is being to the VN right now, it's very close with adding some new bits to connect better to Fate/Zero.

Personally I'd consider HF the worst, with the horrible cliche "evil version" character. And even after watching it and reading the wiki, the Holy Grail and the entire concept of universe is a bunch of crap.

If you do want to experience the Fate route, I suggest the VN, not the anime. The anime was just horrible, butchers too many things(including Shirou) and lacks the awesome yuri scene

 

Which makes me wonder why they didn't re-do that one instead of UBW.

 

But I've seen enough of UBW that I know its' wasn't all that. They didn't even put in Archers chant. Unforgivable.

As for shipping, I care very little whom goes with whom. As long as it is developed properly and integrated into the story with a certain underlying purpose, I am fine. Have Illya and Berserk go all in, see what I care as long as it is good.

To be fair, the UBW movie was total and utter crap. It rushed the route so quickly and it lacked important scenes.

Even if you can't stand the "evil verison" cliche there was at least a lot more tension and action in the HF route compared to Fate.

 

And it had one the best scenes, Nine Lives Blade Works. And the climax was amazing.

 

Which makes me wonder why they didn't re-do that one instead of UBW.

Yes because if they didn't do that Saber would dissapear due to not having enough mana.

Anyways personally find both HF and UBW the best routes in the game, UBW more because Archer. The Fate route does have it's good moments though but overall just too much filler. Zero however is my fav Fate material. The last three episodes where amazing. Though I would not be surprised if some people where confused by the ending since the prequel was just to show you WHAT  happen, not how(that is explained in the VN)

Same, and I do believe UBW has the potential to reach similar levels, in terms of underlying themes and narrative structure. Just b/c it is focused on younger characters doesn't hinder it from being mature, and it has the potential to explore certain aspects from a different perspective--most notably ideological conflicts (regarding Shirou and Rin) which it has managed to so far.

I NOTICED THAT BLUSH MINE!

Really happy to see both Night Raid and the Jaegers be affected by the events of the last few episodes. They both suffered great loses and it would've been bad if they did have no consequences. Just seeing Kurome being really unfit at the moment do a good job of that. Still feel really bad for Tatsumi to be the one to discover Chelsea's fate and while we can clearly see that he's gone a long way since the start he's still retained that good heart and there will be pain when he get the chance to retaliate. Speaking of that... Seryu really get under my skin better than most characters and feeding Chelsea to that abomination make me looking forward even more to her death. Been a long wait for that to happen but going by the preview it might just be that next week Mine and I can finally take farewell of a rather great nemesis.

 

Also it was about time that Lubba had some pretty awesome scenes, seriously underrated character there and I can totally watch him spin the threads for so much more. It's a really fearsome weapon and he seems to be in perfect control of it!

I know that you have already seen the Fate adaptation by DEEN, but what about the UBW movie?

That was one of the things DEEN added to the anime that I actually liked.

 

In the VN, Illya just mentions 'ugh Archer is so annoying , he killed berserkers 5 or 6 times' (don't remember exactly) and we sadly don't even get to see how he pulled that of.
