Anyhow, got a few episodes invested into Bakemonotagari and I've been enjoiying it so far. The humor is right up my alley and doesn't come out as too forced, the animation and visual style is quite intriguing and different which I haven't seen in an anime before, and the story arcs and characters (while unoriginal and stereotypical to a certain extent) are quite decent.

This show is tons of fun. Though panty / boob / ass shots is something I will probably never be comfortable with. Seriously, I get more anxious than a priest in church finding adult magazines.

Really can't wait for people to reach Nisemonogatari and a few scenes in there and I can't wait until I get the chance to start watching Monogatari Second Seasons. My fellow world dominator, you still has so many awesome parts to watch it's craaaazy!

Now watch Nise and Second Season. The final two arcs of the latter are some of the best anime out there imho.

Haha, yeah that so cute! The first time I heard her speaking I thought that she should do a tongue twister and the show delivered! Also really love Araragi and all his comments:

Araragi Koyomi is a brilliant protagonist and the shows wouldn't be anywhere near as good without him and his quirks!

I suppose it amuses me too much that I was introduced to the Monogatari series through the toothbrush scene. I'm still kind of ??? why said acquaintance thought that would motivate me to get into the series. I do have intensions of someday starting Bakemonogatari though, my penchant for surrealism demands it.

Araragi sure is an entertaining protagonist, and quite a decent character. He is vividly distinctive in his characterization which correlates well with whatever situation he finds himself in and the show knows how to utilize it. His satirical nature of everything and everyone is humorous and is not exaggerated or over used and different in its delivery with various events / people (unless it is a running gag, like with Hachikuji), and he can be quite rhetorical at times, which I like in any character.

 

Having someone like Araragi as a protagonist makes watching the show enjoyable, rather than tolerable (so many anime shows similar to Bakemonotagari tend to have a rather sh*t protagonist, I've noticed).

I think you'd like it mainly for the surrealism, Chiwas wonderful voice (BTW there is a wonderful line where even her character comments about how amazing her VA is in the show ) and just the way it handles the harem aspect which I normally *hate* also the characters are really quite good and interesting for the most part.

Yeah pinched nerve. Do some slow neck exercises and try to sleep flat on your back. If you can don't put any stress on the muscles since it can get terrible.

I've had it several times in my life ranging from making it sore to move the neck to not being able to move any muscles around my neck for 2 weeks (not sure if anyone here understands how impossible it is to function when you can't move a certain set of muscles) even small things like just texting is difficult when it's that bad since even moving your arms effect those muscles. You have my sympathies, I do hope it isn't quite that bad and that it doesn't last too long for you dude.

@Isi: I think I completely forgot that you told me Chiwa does voice work in the series... @_@ Welp, if there's one way to force my hand to watch something, it's name dropping her and you know this. Someday I'll stop being a slacker and get back to watching stuffs (we'll see with WoD dropping soon though X3)

I was so proud because I recognized it right away after her character started speaking without knowing it was her beforehand she does have a certain kind of distinct ring to her voice tone though (which is one of the things I like.. Well that and because she voices one of the best characters in anim-no! Fiction XD)

And yes... I suspect WoD will open up a black hole in which none of my spare time or social life will be able to escape X3

While I agree that Arararararararagi is a wonderful protagonist (and one of my personal favorites), there are four arcs in the series that prove that even while focusing on other characters in the lead role, it still holds up brilliantly. And that's due in no small part to the fact that the characters that step up to take the lead are equally fantastic (one in particular who I find it hard not to call one of my, if not my favorite character to come out of this medium).
